  short walk to city centre,perfect

  Great hotel just a 5 minute walk to city centre which is perfect for the Christmas market !!.Lovely clean and spacious rooms with small but very nice balcony. Very pleasant and helpful staff. So altogether a very pleasant stay in the wonderful Bochum.

  New music in the lobby!

  Im very excited to report that six months ago, after over 3 years of playing the same CD on repeat, the music has been changed. Its not even a CD, but a streaming service that is constantly playing different music. So now the Acora is perfect! Congratulations to the management and the whole team!

  Unpleasant Experience

  I would only advise staying in this hotel if you are ASSURED of a room on the garden side. Traffic noise in the rooms on the street side is intolerable if the windows are open (you are only 2-3 meters from a very busy road), and it is impossible to sleep with them closed if the weather is warm: no A/C. Even at night, with the windows closed, there is a regular roar of cars going by. In general, our experience was very unpleasant. There was no internet service in our room, only in the lobby, via an unsecured server, and that only after two days of constant assurances that the problem would soon be fixed. The towels were like sandpaper, the shower curtain was too short so the bathroom flooded, coffee in the rooms was instant, and the decor is early East Germany. Staying at this hotel was the worst part of an otherwise pleasant week in Bochum.

  Ok hotel in the center

  Decent hotel located in the center of Bochum! Great breakfast buffet and ok bar! Hotel is on a busy street so try to get a room facing the back side! Beds a bit too hard for me! There is a parking garage just next to the hotel!

  Fine hotel with significant flaws

  In many ways this is a fine hotel. The prices are reasonable, the rooms are large and clean, the breakfast is outstanding. Rooms facing the garden are quiet and they have balconies. However, the safe in my room had a flaky problem that the staff was unable to repair in several tries. To be fair, the problem was intermittent and hard to duplicate. Far worse, the Wifi is weak and frequently dropped the connection. It would be unacceptable for anyone who needs it for business.
