  Surprised

  Arrived in Paris a day earlier. Needed accommodation for one night, Easy accessible from Station and the Metro. Allowed us to leave our baggage before check in whilst we explored the city. Overall surprised at the cleanliness and friendly staff.

  Short visit

  Needed to have a meeting in La Baule and found this small & cozy hotel in middle of La Baule. Hotel is quite nice and peaceful. Room was clean and comfortable. Also had a nice breakfast. Compared to price I believe this hotel is a good choice.

  Masters of deception

  The photographs and descriptions of this hotel encouraged us to choose something with local charm rather than a chain like Ibis or Best Western. How wrong can you be! On the plus side its clean and the reception staff were pleasant. The reception area is cramped, the lift is cramped, the room is cramped. The accommodation is basic and institutional, resembling a student campus, including do not and it is forbidden signs sellotaped to walls. These guys are masters of deception. Avoid unless you fancy a nostalgic trip back to your uni days.

  Nice Stay

  Staff were very nice ,helpful and friendly,Breakfast overpriced for what was available, overall though very nice, would stay here again but probably not have breakfast, very noisy in mornings with market etc, but not hotels fault

  Ups and downs

  We stayed 5 nights in this hotel and while we generally liked our stay, several things were not ok. On the positive side: + walm welcome, the owner/manager greets you with a smile and takes 15 minutes to explain everything there is to see and to do in La Baule and around. The rest of the staff were also very nice people. + the room is spacious, bathroom even big by French standards, beds comfortable. + it's nice to have a terrace although we didn't use it much. + hotel's brasserie is nice as well. We're not big eaters, in the morning we would usually only drink a coffee with croissants - it was ok, and twice we took a lunch h there - decent salads with a glass of wine. + the area around hotel is very fun, it's an actual locals hood with a daily market, decent bars and restaurants around (we liked le 16 art and La Petite Bauloise) and a lively atmosphere in the morning. Actually we liked it much better than the tourist areas. On the negative side: - the toilet in our room stinks - not awfully, but noticeably. Probably it's the general bad state of the sewerage, because the cleaning service was good and it didn't solve the problem. - no minibar or kettle in the room. I noticed in an earlier feedback the owner replied to the same complaint that only the basic rooms on the 4th floor don't have a minibar. Well we were on a second floor in a more expensive room with a terrace and still didn't have it. - the presence of the daily market comes with a price. Every morning even before 6am the huge cargo cars arrive and start to unload. It's very noisy and almost impossible to sleep with windows open. To choose or not to choose this hotel, well it's up to you.
