    Awful Bed, Poor/Unresponsive Staff, Unlocked Shampoo & Conditioner

    As a Titanium Elite guest with Marriott I spend lots of time in their hotels. One brand I'm particularly fond of is Aloft and it's safe to say this is the worst iteration I've seen within the chain and totally should be kicked out of Marriott. Check-in itself was uneventful. The property did what they were required to do and honored my guaranteed bed-type and placed me on the top floor in accordance with my profile. That said, that's about all they got right. Housekeeping was not up to my standards -- the bed was far from wrinkle free (more on the bed soon), trash can was dirty, handprints were left behind the bed, and most importantly they did not lock the shampoo or conditioner. I think it's swell Marriott is doing away with single use plastics in the room but it's unacceptable to not lock up the shampoo and conditioner. Otherwise, any guest could throw whatever fluids they want in there and no one would know the difference. The room had a stained and rusting fridge haphazardly and crookedly placed under the sink. The TV was not a "smart" one that's normally found with this brand that includes Netflix and Hulu but a basic 32" screen that is far too small for the room. The worst part was indeed the bed. Aloft is known for being inspired by the W Brand which is a quirky luxury brand with Marriott. The bed is promised to be a "signature" experience. Further research on brand guidelines suggest a pillow top mattress pad should be employed to add to the feel of the mattress. Aloft beds are usually AMAZING! This one is the worst and hardest mattress I've ever slept on. There was no mattress pad and the staff couldn't have been any ruder when I asked them for one (they claimed they had never heard any complaints). I was pretty frustrated after that and left the GM some feedback on his voicemail. After I checked out I got a call from someone named "Steve" who left incorrect contact information on my voicemail. I've stopped trying to get ahold of them to share my feedback on here after about 8 calls to the front desk and a voicemail left with his "officemate" Emily. I feel defrauded given how terrible that bed was and the poor condition of the room. Alas, I feel a little better after sharing this experience with others on here.

    Horrible

    Ive been wanting to stay at a aloft for awhile. So I decided to stay at one for my trip to Baltimore. The hotel was filthy, from to the lobby to the room! You would think with whats going on with COVID things would be up to part but it wasnt. Elevator dirty, mirror in the room cracked and scrapped up. Remote to the tv didnt work. Outside area a mess! Shower tiny cant even turn around and shower head sucked. And the vents in the room looked like they havent been cleaned in years. Bathroom door wouldnt stay closed and everything on the desk was dusty! This was the worst hotel experience Ive ever had. Will NEVER return again.

    Easy Check in and Clean Rooms

    Short notice stay as a result of a trip delay. Clean hotel, the bar was open (definietely a plus). Check in was super easy and the airport shuttle runs every 30 minutes. The location is near the airport making for a speedy commute.

    Worst hotel experience Ive ever had!

    During the dates of 1/30/21 - 2/2/21 I was a guest at the aLoft brand hotel at BWI airport off of W Nursery Road in Linthicum Heights, Maryland. My stay was due to a business trip as I am an employee at the airport and needed to be close by during the snow storm. Initial interaction with receptionist was not pleasant, she could not find my reservation and when she did she didnt tell me and was not communicative during the entire process, she just handed me room keys and didnt say anything else. Upon arrival in my room, I noticed an electrical socket sticking out from the wall, shower door didnt fully close, and faint smell of cigarette smoke on the sheets. Another issue with the room is the operation and quality of the window shades, they consistently fall out of their track and dont close fully or correctly. Outside of the room and the biggest concern of mine is that there seem to be no mask mandate throughout the entire hotel, which is incredibly disturbing considering the covid-19 protocols in the state of Maryland. I consistently found myself riding the elevator multiple times without other guests wearing a mask. Hotel staff and management not wearing a mask in lobby/bar area either and walking from across one side of the lobby to the other with no mask or it dangling from one ear off of their face. Guest would regularly be in the lobby without a mask and not once did I ever witness any staff member enforce any requirements. Additionally, each evening I witnessed multiple occasions of hotel staff drinking with hotel guests, taking bottles away from behind the bar for themselves and sliding drinks to hotel guests who seem to be regulars. When an employee needed help at the desk, they would ask someone over to assist. These employees were in the lounge area drinking so they had to put down their drink and walk over to the desk. I Didnt know you were allowed to drink on the companies dime and time. Do to this being a business trip I needed to use the computer station and printer to access my email and print receipts from food purchases. Unfortunately there was no ink and printer so I made my way to the receptionist desk to see if they had more ink. I asked the gentleman if they had more ink, his response was no, thats it just no, no sympathy for the inconvenience or any attempt to resolve the issue. I used this opportunity to bring up the mask issue. I asked if he was aware of the mask mandate and executive order requiring persons in public indoor spaces to wear a mask. At this time not one person in the lobby area was wearing a mask. His excuse was that you dont have to wear anything me if youre eating or drinking. I looked away to observe the room and no one was doing either of those things. He was not even wearing a mask himself, as it was dangling from one of his ears. He again had the excuse of that he was drinking when he was in fact not, he was talking to me. Ive worked in the hospitality industry, they always teach you the customer is always right, and if there is a question that the answer is always YES. Stephen Cook the manager that I had this interaction with was completely a jerk and unprofessional. No attempt to calm the situation or resolve the issue at hand. He just walked away when he was done talking to me. Never staying in a Marriott hotel again. Room 628

    GROSS

    My son and I stayed for one night on our way to drop him off at college. I am not a germ freak by any means but this place was gross! The sheets had food stains on them, definitely not your enhanced Covid cleaning they claim. Not to mention the lobby was packed, people playing pool and music blaring. All I can say is GROSS stay at your own risk!
