PerfectThis hotel has much to offer, and does it in a professional and friendly way. The evening meal was very tasty and the choice at breakfast was very good. Unfortunately our visit was during the coronuvirirus outbreak which restricted the all of the facilities

Could not have asked for moreThe new owners of the Arundell have done a truly wonderful job refurbishing the hotel and it certainly lived up to its billing as the finest sporting hotel in the country. The team were brilliant from the outset at managing our booking (for nine people) and our various requests. Nothing was too much trouble, and this remained the case throughout our stay, from flexibility on what time we ate, to serving drinks in bedrooms, to late check out for those who needed it. This was also against a backdrop of operating within Covid measures, which the hotel did very professionally, whilst minimising any impact to our fun. The bedrooms are all spot on - clean, comfortable, everything working, and well decorated. There is a gunroom with a large gun safe and cleaning kit, and a drying room. One of our party had a dog who thoroughly enjoyed her lodgings. There is a large car park. In short, everything has been very well thought through and works perfectly. The two standout points, however, were the staff and the food. As above, the staff were incredibly attentive and accommodating, which makes such a difference - special mention for Kathleen and Cory, who showed extreme patience and tolerance to say the least. And as for the chef - well, he did a tremendous job on every occasion, producing genuinely first class food throughout. He even turned six woodcock we gave him (in feather) into canapés that very evening (at no extra cost). The Arundell is seriously worth a visit just for the food. I must mention the wine list too, which is excellent. In summary, we dined like princes and were looked after like dignitaries (despite behaving like schoolboys) - and for unbelievably good value. We were all extremely impressed. Huge thanks, and couldn't recommend more.

Long awaited return worth waiting for.I am reviewing the hotel bar dining experience only, as we live locally and love to eat here. We have been looking forward to the re-opening of The Arundell Restaurant and at last on 19th December we had dinner in the hotel bar and the food was faultless. Simon and his wife have lovingly refurbished and refreshed the interior, making it feel welcoming, cosy and Covid safe. The staff were friendly, polite and looked very smart and nothing was too much trouble. And again I have to say the food was stunning.

Fantastic food, shooting and relaxingWe visited The Arundell Arms for 2 nights in December and had a truly wonderful stay. Simon and Bella were very welcoming and all the staff were helpful and friendly. We relaxed and enjoyed drinks by the fire, had fabulous food including a delicious venison main course with locally sourced ingredients. We had an exceptional day out with Jeff and his team shooting Snipe and Woodcock and the Snipe canapes served that evening were absolutely delicious - a true field to fork experience! Our bedroom was beautifully decorated with a comfy double bed and excellent new ensuite. (We were no 3). We are already planning more trips back for shooting, stalking and fishing. Thanks so much for having us!

The best sporting hotel in the UKThe hotel has been recently refurbished to a very high standard with tasteful decor you would expect from a country hotel. The sitting room is particularly inviting with roaring wood burners and lovely views to the garden and cockpit! The room was very clean and well presented with personal touches, love the radio provided instead of TV. Bed was huge and I slept like a baby, very comfortable and quiet. The food at the hotel is exceptional and has local goodies like venison which is exactly what sporting hotels should serve. I highly recommend the venison cutlet, game faggot and the pig cheek arancini as well as the salted caramel pudding. The wine was reasonably priced. Breakfast is a feast, just what you need for a day out walking the Moors, shooting or fishing. If you shoot be sure to book the snipe shooting it is exceptional and arranged through the hotel itself.
