  Göttingen es una ciudad muy pequeña y este es el único hotel que está a sus afueras. En bus a 10 minutos, en bici 20 y caminando a 45. En una ciudad en que todo se hace a pie es absurdo llegar tan lejos y más aún si es muy caro para lo que realmente es. No es recomendable, hay muchas mejores opciones dentro de la ciudad y a mejores precios.

  Okay hotel with good breakfast

  I stayed in Astoria during my visit to Germany this November. It is a good hotel with nice breakfast facility... The location was good, about 10 min walk from city center... However, the room I stayed in was a bit less spacious... and the hotel wifi never worked in my room during my 6 day stay... I used Telekom wifi which was available but possibly it was a open connection and not from the hotel...

  Slightly dated, but not bad at all for the money

  I recently stayed at Hotel Astoria when visiting Gottingen for a conference at the nearby Max Planck Institute &, although the hotel is a bit dated in terms of decor/furnishings, overall I was pleasantly surprised. There is a pleasant lobby/entrance on the ground floor, a spacious, bright restaurant room on the lower floor (where breakfast is served from 6.30am-10am) & my single room was clean & comfortable (& actually contained two single beds pushed together to form a double). My room was admittedly relatively basic compared to more modern hotels & didnt have some of the typical mod-cons (such as air-con & electronic key cards), but was very clean with good wifi, a TV, a powerful hot shower & a comfortable bed. Although I could occasionally hear noise from the corridor & the curtains were quite thin & didnt quite cover the window, I still slept very well during my three-night stay. Having said that, it may be worth taking an eye-mask if youre particularly sensitive to light. I was particularly impressed by the daily breakfast buffet, which has a huge choice of food with coffee, various teas, juices, yogurt, fruit salad, cereals & granolas, bread rolls, sliced bread (including rye), jam, cheese, salad, eggs, sliced meat & salmon. The staff also kindly made sure that they had alpro soy yogurt available for me to use, after I emailed them regarding my vegan dietary requirements, which I really appreciated. Overall, Hotel Astoria may look a bit tired & old, but its good value for money & I would have no problem staying there again.

  Very friendly

  A hotel that knows how to make the guests satisfied. Even though we had a really late arrival they kept dinner warm for us. Reception is also effective and friendly, rooms are big and with nice beds. Location is good but there is about 15 minutes walk to Centrum.

  Spatious

  Spatious, clean, reasonably newly refurbished room. Bathroom in mint condition. Big windows that can be fully opened. Good quality breakfast with a large selection of food and tea. My room was facing a car wash place that was quite noisy, but that didn't ruin my impression of the hotel. Located a couple of kilometres from the city centre, but that's not a problem with a rental bike from Marco Bike (located at the the train station, highly recommended!). Not overwhelmingly welcoming staff at the reception, but not too grumpy either.
