  Location, location, location

  This was the second time we'd used this hotel and the primary reason was location - it is incredibly convenient when driving to the vendee or, on this occasion Charentes-Maritime. A great place to act as a stopover - not particularly inspiring room or surroundings but good value, clean rooms and perfect location near the autoroute. There are several restaurants close by, Buffalo Grill, Courtepaille etc. Breakfast is fine - although you do need to get up early for the eggs and bacon - and the somewhat oafish behaviour of some fellow British travellers was a bit embarrassing. You find yourself using your best French to disassociate yourself!!. Security is good and it did enable for of us to get into one room to save cost. We did have a problem with a leaking air con but for one night's stay not an issue. This is close to Le Mans so it gets booked up early when the 24hour is on

  Good Budget Family Hotel

  Travelling through France on way back to the UK. B&B Hotel cheap and had a family room. Bathroom small and cramped but room ok for price. real benefit was being able to use my Firestick and get some TV in english..

  Five star prices for 1 star hotel

  We were charged for a stay at the 24 hour race in other words a small fortune I assume the rest of the town quoted similar. Rooms were tiny as was the shower great if your a pigmy but 6-2 I had to shower sideways. Breakfast was typical French buffet however they did serve scrambled eggs and bacon which most dont. We found a few bugs in the room but bed was clean. Plenty of fast food places nearby if your a family and close to motorway. Staff were friendly and helpful however.

  Passing through from ferry port the central france

  For a budget hotel at budget price of £44 for a night for two people with Continental breakfast (all you can eat) this place cannot be faulted. Rooms are minimal but have TV with Sports if your so inclined. Bathroom was big enough and I am 6'2 shower was powerfull and very hot. Bedding was spotless and smelt clean like back home, not steam burnt like some hotels. Towels were soft and spotless and smelt fresh again and dryed you not spreading water around your body like some. We had room 73 on the 2nd floor accesed buy a great lift. There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance to suit all budjets. We found both girls on reception to be very helpfulmore so with our broken french both sides had a good laugh at our expence. We had a good stay and will probably stay again on our return trip.

  Saturday night stopover

  Stopped here on way back from South of France to the Chunnel. Receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. Discount cards handed out to 2 local eateries. The nearest was Le Portofino (next door) and was a good choice for tired travellers. The location is just off of the autoroute however it is difficult to walk to local amenities due to busy roads and limited underpasses and no bridges. Would recommend driving to access the local Carrefour and multiple services. The room was very basic, poor lighting and very noisy at night. I suspect this is because we stopped on a Saturday night and groups of young ladies and gents were in attendance. No kettle or fridge although the receptionist lent us a cup and use of the microwave in the reception if needed. Water was hot for shower, no plug in sink but in reality it delivered what we expected a comfortable bed and a place to put your head down. Car parking was onsite and ample.
