  Lovely location

  I stayed here for just one night whle touring. From outside the hotel does not look inspiring being a basic flat roofed, concrete building. One you enter all that changes. The staff are friendly and helpful, my room was excellent, spotlessly clean, spacious, very comfortable and quiet with a beautiful bathroom and shower. It is located on the Eider and I enjoyed a bracing walk in the afternoon sunshine and enjoyed the views over the Eider with all it's wildlife. In the restaurant that evening I asked for a menu and was told I could either have steak or fish, no starters were available and a choice of just 2 desserts.......! Well my fish was very good indeed although there is not much you can do wrong with a bowl of ice cream is there? Apart from that, the hotel was excellent and the bufet breakfast was superb. I would not hesitate to return here at any time in the future, great location, excellent rooms, friendly staff and good value for money.

  Good 3 star hotel in a quiet location

  We stayed for 5 nights to travel the area. Room was very clean but did not have a river view. No fridge, but did have a hair dryer. Shower unit a little small but ok. Nice towels. No lift, so try to get a room on the second floor with a view of the tidal river Eider. Every Saturday evening there is an excellent buffet with lots of local produce including in season, fresh brown shrimps. An easy walk into town as it is all very flat and good for cycling.

  Hotel Rating can be Wrong

  This property is one of the nicest hotels/motels that we have stayed in on this six week European bicycle tour . We read the previous evaluation scores and were somewhat surprised by the low scores that this property got but the later scores seemed to improve and the price point was reasonable so we decided to give it a try . The reception was great - friendly and helpful . Our room on the ground floor had a cute little patio and the view on the Strand was very nice . Room was quite large and was very bright and clean . Bathroom was clean , large and had toiletries. Dinner was available but we ate across the way at the Poseidon Restaurant which was excellent as well . Breakfast was very good , bountiful and in a very pleasant room with a view of the Strand . Close to town and the bicycle trail . This place far exceeds the rating that it was given and is definitely worth a stay for a day or more .
