  Alojamiento IM Vichy 2015

  Nos alojamos en el hotel durante 3 noches porque íbamos a formar parte del Ironman. Es un hotel bastante antiguo, pero que conserva su encanto. Una recepción vieja, pero por suerte el personal hablaba inglés entendible. Nos dieron las dos habitaciones que teniamos reservadas. Una de ellas era cuadruple pero al final se quedó en doble, fue perfecto, mucho más espacio para nosotros y para nuestras bicicletas y equipaje. El interior del hotel muy limpio, pero no las habitaciones. Todo el hotel era de suelo moqueta, y en la habitación se veía la marca de cosas encima de la moqueta. En el balcón tuve viviendo durante 3 días a la araña de Spiderman con su enorme teleraña (no se pudo formar en horas). Nadie la limpió. Calidad precio OK. WIFI lamentable en las habitacioens.

  Unexpected grandeur

  Being an invited speaker at a large international conference has its advantages, one of them being residing on the 7th floor of Hotel Aletti Palace in Vichy. The room was large, old-fashioned, and scrupulously clean. The hotel is of a magnificence seldom seen these days: the height of the lobby/reception area must be at least 10 m. The restaurant served the best moules frites I have had in years and, with a Magret de canard salad for a starter this was a most reasonable luncheon at 17:- . The Bar was crowded in front of the TV owing to the Football World Cup, but the excellent Marc d'Auvergne poured in generous measure by the barman held more attraction for me. [I managed to convince other guests of its excellence and by the end of the week it appeared that three bottles had been emptied; unfortunately I did not manage to discover a local supplier in order to bring a bottle, or several bottles, with me back home.]

  Charming though slightly run down, centrally located hotel

  LOCATION: Very centrally located, in the city centre, next to the Palais des Congrès and the main park. There is public parking in front of the hotel (paying). PREMISES: The look and feel of a 19th Century hotel, especially in the lobby. However, while this provides charm to the place, when looking closer you can see the hotel is showing its age and is in need of an overhaul. POOL: The hotel has an outdoor pool which however seemed not or not sufficiently heated - the water was really cold. SERVICE: staff is friendly and helpful. ROOM: very spacious but rather barren; the carpet was stained and should be replaced; windows were old but the room had a nice terrace overlooking the courtyard and pool. WiFi: reliable and fast in the room and all common places OVERALL: Charming though slightly run down, centrally located hotel.

  Nice stay

  Big room, might need some refurbishement. Well situated, close to the center town Staff is friendly and you feel welcome. Private swimming pool with nice amenities. The top was and top of the notch Irish coffee at the bar, 5 stars...

  A grand old hotel

  This is a wonderful hotel. The rooms are enormous, and the view (from the 6th floor) across the park is excellent. The hotel fits the belle epoch feel of Vichy, and that is a good thing. The breakfast (separate charge) is excellent. The dining room is a bit tomb-like at night, but the food is good enough. Finally, the receptionists couldn't have been friendlier.
