  Overpriced and small rooms

  The staff at the reception and the bar is very friendly Rooms were refurbished... bed is ok... but very small rooms (and we had one of the bigger ones). No real closet space... old chairs in room, almost no desk space. Balcony not refurbished... small , loose tiles, dirty furniture Bathroom... good shower, toilet in bathroom. Ok for one person. Poor bathroom soap etc,.. Breakfast very basic, no local products... just the basics are available. Pastry very bad quality. Ok pool area, Price on the very high end ! overall price way too high for what you get, they probably get enough visitors during season and feel they can afford it.

  Plusses and minuses

  Open all year round, this hotel appeals especially to business people. Plus points: nice location (practically on the sea); easy, ample and free parking; welcoming, easy atmosphere, friendly management and staff; free Wifi; a breakfast buffet, available weekdays 6-10am that caters for a wide range of tastes (including hot and cold options and different bread types - not necessarily a given in France); a south-facing (but non-heated) swimming pool (open April-October) Less positive: relatively small size bedrooms and bathrooms Points for improvement: restaurant menus should include vegetarian and vegan options; bedroom windows needed cleaning; make-up/shaving mirror would improve bathroom functionality; TV selection miserable (no German or English news channels); housekeeping not 100% (cobwebs near the hotel entrance; paper tissues not replaced in room bathrooom; swimming pool terrace garden looks neglected (dead palm branches still hanging fom the trees; half dead plants in bed outside breakfast room; gaps in hedge on road side of the terrace).   Lovely getaway

  We spent one night there right before lock down in March. We felt like we had the hotel for ourself. Staff was lovely, particularly at the restaurant for dinner and the food was delicious. They upgraded us to a sea view room with a balcony, I loved it, it is a small room but very well designed and clean. The weather was beautiful, it was a short but very pleasant stay, we highly recommend. Location of the hotel is perfect.

  We left 1 night early because of how bad it was

  Everything you read about this hotel is true, the staff is really nice and doing their best to help. The pool(area) is way to small for how many rooms they have. All the beds are always occupied. The hotel overall is outdated.. they renovated the lobby and thats about it. Took smart pictures too make it look like a modern hotel while it isnt at all. So overall for us its just way too expensive for what you get. Last but not least the hygiene... the sheets are clean, but our room wasnt properly cleaned (as there was used coffee cup in our room still) and there was dirt all over the outdated sliding doors. In this hotel you pay alot because of the location ( i guess ) but that wasnt worth it for us.

  A place to return

  The hotel was under new ownership and booked for 4 nights post lockdown. After 4 months of being in doors in London we wanted to swim in the sea and feel the sun on our backs. The Paradou did not disappoint. Modern design with features that make you smile this seaside hotel faces the ocean with beautiful views. Rooms are compact but newly fitted and pleasant. The hotel is authentic and staff welcoming. Fanny on reception was kind and Gerald the manager particularly helpful wanting to ensure guests have a great time. We tried several restaurants close by, enjoying Aloha For lunch on the beach. But the best food by a long shot is at the hotel. Its ingredients are seasonal and sourced locally. We had tuna tartare which was delicious and our son loved the burger many local are discovering it and its busy fir lunch and dinner and suburb value for money. A short flight from LHW to Marseille then half an hours drive make it easy for a long weekend. We will definitely be back.
