  Went in today for a carvery lunch. Very disappointed. The meat was very dry like it was a day old. The veg was over cooked and sloppy. The lady that served us was so good and could not apologise enough. And said they had fresh meat to bring out if we didn't mind waiting but after what we was originally served it put us completely off having anything else. I would not recommend going for a weekday lunch there at all.

  Pre Birthday lunch

  Overall I found this restaurant rather disappointing the service was slow We had booked a table in the restaurant but due to a mishap with a child they said our table wouldnt be available until later we had a choice of sitting where we were in the bar area or waiting for our table it appears my cousin misheard and agreed to stay where we were so Im not blaming the waitress at all However we were the only ones in this area the bench seats were uncomfortable to eat at (fine for just a drink)but there was no atmosphere no one even came to the bar as drinks were served at the table in the restaurant we felt like outsiders We choose the carvery (other lunch menu available) we had a choice of pork Turkey or gammon (no beef) which would have been my first choice a selection of vegetables & disappointingly no new potatoes only roast which I must confess were delicious Our waitress came check everything was ok we asked to order some drinks she said shed get some one to come & take our order by the time he arrived we had eaten three quarters of our lunch! the waitress did apologise shed forgotten to tell the wine waiter So not exactly a great experience as I said originally rather disappointing

  Amazing

  I just wanted to say a massive thank you to all of the staff at Oaklands for letting me stay whilst on my night shifts during covid 19. The room was comfortable and clean and the food was amazing. The staff were polite and friendly even when I turned up at 7am after my night shifts Thank you once again this amazing gesture for key workers during this time, you have no idea just how much we appreciate it Sam

  Although I didn't stay at your residence, I still wanted to thank and give recognition to all the kind people at the Oaklands during this though time. I can not thank them enough for the many splendid home made meals the darlings have been delivering to my door. I don't know what I would of done without them, thier kindness and generosity.   Great stop over

  Fantastic last minute over night stay. Clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful . Set in beautiful countryside. Didn't stay for the breakfast as we left early but restaurant looked amazing.
