    Disappointing

I have to say that staying at the Black Bear Lodge in Park City has been my worst experience thus far. Air conditioning is not available, and during my Labor Day weekend stay, we had to leave windows open (even at 8,000 ft elevation.) The problem arises from the lack of an overnight staff, as the lobby closes at 5 PM. This lack of supervision resulted quiet hours (which purportedly begin at 10 PM) being violated every single night by inebriated vacationers. Our next-door neighbors would stay up all night and blast their radio in early in morning. I went to discuss our concerns with the staff. The person at the desk indicated that I would receive a call from the person in charge that weekend (manager). I also asked if they could have someone go over to enforce quite hours. I was promptly told to simply "call the cops" on people that were "being loud." Such exhortation for someone vacationing is unacceptable and places the burden on the customers. Of course, I also never received a call from the off-site manager. I was simply ignored. I also asked if I could be moved to another room, where perhaps it would be off the busy walkways at night, but I was told that the lodge was fully booked. Of course, simply going to the parking lot would confirm the fact that this was not true, as I estimated the parking lot of the 50% free. In the last night of our stay, which was Sunday night, we had to endure a fire alarm. After clearing the building, the firefighters indicated that someone was damaged a water sprinkler which a pillow. Again, most likely due to the management's failure to enforce quite hours and lack of on-site staff. After going to bed around midnight, we left early in the morning.

    Awful experience

This place is a disaster. The beds and pillows were what would would expect at a cheap motel not a high quality resort. The sink repeatedly backed up. We had to ask multiple time for ice to be removed from our entrance. I would never recommend someone stay here.

    Fantastic location

These apartments are conveniently located very near the ski lifts, ski passes etc- there are different kinds, ours was a two bedroom one and they are spacious, come with all appliances and are very comfortable- Most have good views and a hot tub

    Unit 303

I would not recommend staying in unit 303. You could tell the owners have not updated the unit in quite awhile. Furnishings must be 20 years old or more, not comfortable. The pull out sofa was broken, couldnt use it. Should not be advertising the unit has a pull out. Has two rickety chairs on the back porch, did not trust sitting on them. The refrigerator freezer barely worked. The ice cream we bought and freezer foods went bad. We just prayed that the fridge lasted until the end of our stay. All appliances are also 20+ years old. Wouldnt be a big deal if they worked. The internet connection to the back bedrooms were horrible. If you wanted to get work done in either bedroom from your laptop, it wasnt going to happen. The bureau top drawer was broken. The owners definitely need to put some money into this unit and upgrade it. Would not stay there again.
