  Labor Day Weekend

  This was our 2nd year staying here for Labor Day Weekend. Staff are all very friendly and nice. Its a great location right over the river in Wisconsin. Taking 8-10 minutes to get to Canal Park. We had a king suite room. Very nice extra amenities with desk, couch and extra tv. Microwave, refrigerator and 2 extra sinks. Comfortable king bed and love the sheets. Pale blue not typical white! It has a large indoor pool but we were too tired at the end of the nights to use it. Breakfast is ok. They have biscuits and gravy so Im good! Also, cereal, pastries, and pancakes. I would stay here again and recommend for sure.

  Really Good Value

  We often stay in Duluth just across the bridge. For variety, we decided to try Superior WI and picked the Boarders just across the inlet, literally within 10 minutes of downtown Duluth. We found the location ideal, the room well taken care of, and the help simply great.

  Surprisingly awesome!

  We booked the king whirlpool suite and it was excellent. Comfortable new pillow top mattress. Very clean. Nice smell of cedar, like a cedar sauna when you enter the lobby. Beautiful fireplace and sitting area in the lobby. We didn't even end up using the hot top in the room, because the hotel pool, hot tub and sauna are open until midnight! Although they welcome children, children are only allowed in the pool/hot tub/sauna area until 11pm, so the adults have an hour to use it kid free. The complimentary breakfast has gluten free waffles available upon request, but the breakfast is only available until 9am. Also, this hotel is a tad out of the way from the downtown area, but close to the bridge to Duluth (the bridge closest to Bellnap St, not Hammond Ave). I only gave 4 stars because of the early end time for breakfast and the area. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The shower head was very strong and excellentl for shampooing my long thick hair. The massage shower head was strong and felt great on my shoulders and upper back, We will definitely be back and will recommend it to others. Excellent price with discounts for AAA/CAA, AARP/CARP as well as others. It's the cleanest hotel I've been in recently. Loved it!

  Disappointing

  Because we are having remodeling done on our house, we had to stay at local hotels for two weeks. This one was fine the first time, I was actually impressed, but after that, the staff at check in could not have been ruder. Oh, youre back, she says sarcastically when we walk in. Its like, really, what? How rude. Made us feel so unwelcome. And caused my daughter who has disabilities and is extremely sensitive to unkind treatment to act up for hours after. Very disappointing.

  Would stay again

  This hotel was clean, quiet and comfortable. Our king room was large with couch, chair and large TV. Breakfast in morning was sufficient but not a full hot meal. Which works fine for me but not my husband. The only issue I had was when I booked a few months ago I requested a ground floor room which we didn't get. There was no elevator and stairs are hard for me with my bad knee's.
