  Great food and family friendly

  Great food and atmosphere, steak & ale pies and burgers were superb and presentation was top notch. Good selection on the kids menu too. Hat off to chef Peter and the team. Will definitely be visiting again soon.

  Fabulous stay

  My husband and I decided to go to the Bowfield for an overnight stay to celebrate my 50th birthday. Given the current COVID restrictions celebrations had to be a bit different from those planned! Wow, what a great stay we had. Efficient check in and a beautiful room which was ready for us on arrival. Lovely bathroom and great shower. Really good quality towels and complimentary toiletries for us both too. We visited the Aura spa which is absolutely beautiful. We both had a lovely massage treatment then had a relaxing soak in the outdoor hot tub, which we had to ourselves. We had a tasty dinner in the Plumpy Duck restaurant and when finished ordered some drinks which were delivered to our room by staff. We were advised of the new app that had been created so we were easily able to order further drinks for the room, with the bar area being shut due to COVID regulations. We had a wonderful sleep in a really comfy bed, and a brilliant breakfast before we left. Check out was just as efficient as check in. This hotel has been beautifully refurbished to an extremely high standard. The attention to detail is obvious, and without question, every member of staff we encountered was extremely friendly and helpful, and its obvious that they enjoy being at work. Thank you to the Manorview Group for making our stay perfect. Id have no hesitation in recommending the hotel to family and friends.

  Competition winner

  I won an overnight stay, full spa package, lunch dinner and breakfast the following morning. On arrival to the hotel the first view was very welcoming. The ambience of the reception is beautiful and the ladies on reception were extremely welcoming. We got off to a great start. We were taken to through to have our afternoon tea. That was our first disappointment. Stale bread sandwiches which felt like they had been sitting out for hours and very miniature cakes that I feel do not belong on a beautiful hotels afternoon tea spread- a tunnocks snowball, a bite size (two year old bite) mince pie, minute Lyons jam roll and the sticky gingerbread which was delicious and the only one acceptable on the plate. It was also meant to have cinnamon and fruit scone with jam and cream. We got a burnt plain that could have been used as a door stop scone with no jam and butter. Service was ok there was a funeral in when we were at lunch so we made allowances for that. However it did feel bizzare being sat right beside a mourning family. Bit of a downer for us pardon the phrase who were celebrating my 40th and win. We then experienced the spa. Wow. You 100% have that right and kudos to use. The girls were fab, our hot stone massages were fab and the hydro pool was the best thing about the whole place and would definately return to use the spa facilities. The room was also lovely. Comfortable. We were on a floor with a family from hell who let there ferrel children run riot and chap doors all night shouting room service. Each time we phoned to let someone know we never got an answer. The food at dinner wasnt great and we noticed the tables around us also sending their food back. The dinner service was good however but the chef let them down. Cut now to breakfast. Whoever the girl that was working at 8am on the sat morning maybe needs a refresher course on hospitality. She made us feel that anything we asked for was a problem. The breakfast was delicious though cant fault that at all. If I had paid for my experience I would have complained at the hotel. Instead we just left feeling a bit meh! about the whole thing. High points and low points. Such a shame.

  Wonderful Stay

  The whole experience was fantastic, from the room to the restaurant the spa and leisure facilities were great to chill out and relax. The location is perfect for a relaxing stay exactly what you want to get away from the rest of the world, very peaceful surroundings. Food was amazing and staff were brilliant as Ive got an allergy they helped out to ensure I could still have the foods I wanted. I would recommend this place to anyone and Im sure Ill be back soon.

  Dont leave until your satisfied

  Thought we would have a wee local treat hotel room and food were great Spa?? disappointed!! not owned by The hotel appointments running late missed our slots for the pool etc, told we could have it the next day, never happened, girl tried to charge us again, so we missed out. On departure when asked we explained that we never got our full day. Barbara in reception was appalled and promised that Edward would be calling us to sort out another day, so off went thinking well thats good service. In our dreams Edward DIDNT GET IN TOUCH. there All talk and no action. will be sticking to the Hydros
