  Pilot visiting Velocity Aircraft factory

  A great place to stay close to the X26 airport for pilots flying to visit the Velocity Aircraft factory hangar. The location is also near fast food like Wendys and other places. The pool seems ok but didnt have time this trip to jump in.

  Room was filthy

  My room was not ready when I arrived even tho I tried to check in at 12, but came back at 330. When I entered the room the bed was stripped with the linens thrown in the corner and the trash in a bag on the floor. I was able to grab the house keeper as she was working next door. The house keeper (she was so wonderful) Was shocked and didnt understand what happened and offed to help right away. I used a 1/2 bottle of lysol on the bed, pillows, doors, remote bathroom and needed to get get new pillow and bed cover due to it being soiled. The room was also not stocked so I had to use one towel left over from the previous peoples stay, and I was able to grab shampoo and soap out of the maintenance closet. Also when I tried to charge my phone I had to move the bed side table and there wAs about an inch of dust... yuck. I attempted to call the office only to get the VM and left a message and never got a call back. The room however did have an amazing view and was the one good point, when I awoke in the morning I was able to view dolphins swimming in the bay. In the morning I went to check out to report my experience, with the gentleman being kind but stating that he runs the front and then cleans, how can that even work? The staff was friendly, but the operations need improvement. For 160$ a night it was worth 50$ since I helped with the cleaning. The place has potential but be warned, of the cleanliness.

  Nice location

  Hotel was over priced for what you received. They didnt have any soap or shampoo in the room. You had to go to the front desk to get it. Restaurant had good food and drinks. Pricing was fair for what you received in the restaurant.

  We love Capt Hirams!

  Capt Hirams Resort is always a wonderful place to be! We get to relax, eat great food, see amazing sights (the dolphins never disappoint) and hear awesome music! We will love the view of the river! Its our go-to spot several times a year!

  Just ok

  The only amenity besides a complementary 1 hour kayak, bike or paddle board rental per day (which you actually pay in a $5 per person daily resort fee) is the pool. Other than than its the restaurants and bars that are open to the public, so is the parking lot, so you wont sleep well either. There was in addition to that a party on our floor, so no one slept the second night. Not impressed, sadly we had much higher hopes and it was not as advertised.
