Ski trip with my son and a mate

I can't say enough about this place. The staff are all fantastic and the food is out of this world. A real authentic Italian experience. The location is perfect for the ski lifts. I never write reviews but felt this time it was needed. I heard some people in the lobby the morning we were getting picked up moaning and saying they couldnt wait to get home and have "some proper food". To this i say if you don't like Italian food then maybe Italy is not the place to go on holiday. These are the type of people that expect where ever they go in the world everyone should speak English and eat nothing but Full english breakfasts and fish and chips.Again thanks to all the staff at Cielo Blu for a Fantastic week and would recomend to all.

    disappointing food

stayed here over Easter 2018 after previously visiting Livigno and having fabulous food. Here, unfortunately, we watched as most of the food went back to the kitchen, to the bin. The breakfast was absolutely fine and the lovely salad buffet meant no-one went hungry but many of the main menu dishes were a little strange and failed to hit the mark and the couple of evenings where there was a gala dinner, which meant no choice of menu, were the worst. Children especially were put off from choosing any of the options and I saw quite a few just asking for some plain pasta instead. The staff seemed not to be put off by all the returned food but I think it should prompt a rethink of the menu. And just to say, we all love Italian food! Otherwise the accommodation was fine and so was the resort and the skiing, The bar and reception staff could have been friendlier, no welcome drink and the rooms were not ready when we arrived. I wouldn't return.

    food is disgusting !

My daughter recently attended the hotel on a school ski trip. The food was utterly disguising - just because it's school children they think they can get away with serving up substandard food. Cold mushy pasta every night , not even cooked properly. The food was extremely salty - the vegetarian option was plain, basic and boring. the same food day in and day out. Also, they didn't take into consideration a nut allergy and served up food with nuts which could of been potentially life threatening. The meat dish was not cooked properly. Quite a lot was under-cooked and the school Liaison officer had to complain. Quite a lot of the food was dripping in fat. The take away from this - DO NOT EAT THERE IF YOU DECIDE TO STAY !

Honest Review with Advice before you go!!

We stayed over new years eve and returned back just short of three days ago. This was are second visit here. I wanted to give a honest review which will help travellers before or when booking this hotel. Pros: - Close (ish) to the slopes- you still have to walk up a Icey road for 5 minutes. - VERY good food. The food was lovely fine dining and made the hotel go from a ok to very good. - The house keeping is also very good. Our room was very clean with enough toilet roll, towels and fresh sheets. - The drinks are very well priced and they do happy hour every day with free bar snacks! Cons: - The wifi is awful! It hardly works and you have to be pretty much sitting next to the reception to get enough bars to facetime. - The rooms are very small and the hairdryer takes 100000 hours to dry hair- take your own hair dryer! - They don't have irons. - The receptionist can be a little rude but the restaurant staff are brilliant. - The Ski locker room is under ground with a very slippery path to get up and down. We would stay here again as we love Passo Del Tonale and if you just use the hotel to sleep and eat then you can't go wrong with Hotel Cielo Blu!

    Lovely friendly hotel

We stayed here over the New Year week, booked fairly last minute with Crystal. We were a little concerned reading previous reviews regarding the food however we need not have worried, we didnt have a bad meal all week. I dont understand previous reviews unless they were from people who prefer nothing but chicken nuggets and burgers. The staff worked tirelessly to provide the best service they could, putting on a Trentino evening, an Italian evening and an extensive New Year Gala dinner. The rooms were spotlessly clean, adequate, with some of the best storage we have had at a ski hotel. Location was perfect for easy access to the slopes. The only negative I can think of is that the exit from the ski storage room in the basement is precarious to say the least. We opted to rent a locker at the base of the slopes for 30 euros for the week which was very convenient and we enjoyed a leisurely few minutes walk in a morning instead of carting all our equipment. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and wouldnt hesitate to recommend it for a great value ski week. The ski area is set up perfectly for beginners, intermediates and families.
