  Never again!

  We arrived at the hotel about 6:30 p.m., there were about a dozen people in the check in area all complaining about how long they had been waiting for a room. When I approached, I gave my name telling them that I have a reservation. After a bit, the clerk tells me that they dont have a no smoking-king room ready but she could offer a smoking double. We accepted it because we had been driving for over 7 hours and were tired and hungry. The hallway floors were rickety with very worn carpet. The room was dingy and in disrepair. The next morning when we woke up, there was a dead roach on the bathroom floor! When I went to the breakfast room, there was one ours of weak coffee and all of the food offerings were depleted!! I will NEVER stay in that horrible place again!

  Terrible Customer Servive

  I booked this hotel Aug 30th when we thought that the hurricane was heading straight for Florida. The next morning, we learned that there was uncertainty and it was heading toward us. With all the uncertainty, we decided not to go. I called Priceline in the morning and asked if I could get a refund or at least change dates. The hotel's manager wasn't available, so I called the next day and no one would answer the phone. My third attempt Priceline was have technical issues, and finally today, I was told the hotel would not refund my money and that I hadn't called and the weather was good there, so they weren't going to refund. Clarion can keep my money, but I will never stay at their hotel again. This is terrible customer service, with zero sympathy for the extenuating circumstances.

  Awful

  I find it hard to give this hotel 1 star. The only thing that is decent is the lobby. Once you leave that area to go to your room, its awful. There was an awful smell when entering the hallways. This hotel is in desperate need of renovations. When we arrived the clerk told us they were undergoing renovations but I certainly did not see any going on. The first room we were assigned (I say first because I requested to be moved), the hallway floors were completely gone. It was like walking on unsecured plywood with carpet on top....like a wobbly bridge. Upon entering the room the first thing I noticed were the blinds and curtains. They were so old and worn they had holes in them. The wallpaper was stapled to the wall to keep it from falling off. The ceiling was chipping and there looked to be places of mold in the seams between the wall and ceiling by the windows. When I opened the refrigerator it had OLD lunch meat left inside. I removed the sheets and the beds were stained and gross. And next came the bathroom: I got as far as noticing there wasnt a shower curtain. Thats when I went to the front desk. The clerk was very apologetic and graciously assigned us another room. This room was a tad bit better, but again there was absolutely no sign of renovations taking place anywhere. There is a $35 pet fee, which is rather high, especially for a hotel of this caliber. Breakfast was mediocre to say the least, then theres a sign that tips are greatly appreciated....for your breakfast. There was no fruit, no yogurt, no water. You are on paper plates with very cheap plastic silverware. No cereal....not good. I would never ever stay at this hotel again.

  Stay Away

  The first room we were assigned was horrible. Old lunch meat left in the refrigerator, no shower curtain, walls and ceiling were pathetic and dirty, floors in the hallway felt like you were going to fall through, really bad odor...like smoke, mattresses were stained....the list goes on. Then after we have checked in they want to charge an additional $35 for a pet. Thats more than some people pay for the disgusting rooms. I complained to staff and was moved to another room on the 2nd floor. Not much better but no lunch meat in fridge and walls/ceilings were a bit cleaner. Breakfast was horrible. No fruit, no cereal or yogurt, lacked on juices, paper plates and utensils...like the cheapest they could find. Variety was horrible. And then they expect a tip on top of it. The clerk told me they were currently undergoing renovations but I did not see anything at all being renovated. I will never stay at this hotel again.

  Not a good choice

  This is an older hotel that has simply not been maintained. Everything is old looking, which is fine, but it is in terrible shape. It took us 4 rooms to find one that the wifi didn't drop out just inside the door. Some of the towels smelled sour...yuck! Grabbed one and nearly puked due to the smell. The loud bathroom fan would not turn off at all in the 1st room. The room we switched to on the 2nd night had a leak under the bathroom sink. I did tell staff about all of these issues, but I doubt they will do anything. The indoor pool was ok but the pool area is nasty...rusty water dripping from the ceiling due to condensation. Part of the ceiling was falling down in the corner. There were no pool towels at all, and when the worker brought them after I asked, they had nasty stains on them. of course we were there in winter, but the outdoor pool was not covered and was green with algae all over. The "breakfast" was awful!!! There was something that was supposed to be eggs, hard biscuits, bacon, and pancakes that my little kids would not eat after 1 bite. No fruit (bananas,apples,etc), no yogurt containers, no toast or bagels, nothing you might find at literally any other hotel as a breakfast item. In the 7 minutes we were there for breakfast before deciding to leave and buy something, 1 person came in and looked at the food and walked out and 1person got a plate of food and coffee, took one bite, and dumped it all in the trash and left. The coffee pot and ice bucket and cups are located in the bathroom, which I find totally disgusting. There is a mini fridge and microwave with room on top for the coffee and ice...why the bathroom!?!?! I will say the 2 different ladies at the front desk were nice and as helpful as they could be with what they could do. The rooms felt spacious..some smelled like old cigarettes though. The beds were not too bad overall. Unless you are driving through and need to stop to catch a few hours of sleep, keep looking for a different hotel. I feel bad saying that, but it is not a good choice for a family or for staying for a vacation. It just really needs some tlc, a heavy dose of maintenance, and a good deep cleaning. We were there for business & a family weekend.
