  Conocí el lugar con una amiga. Tomamos un brunch excelente. Aun sin tomar nada vale la pena visitar un sitio tan bello. Tomamos el brunch con todos los productos locales - salmón, bacon, queso, huevos al horno, dulces - incluido un scone magnífico. No meten prisas y se puede leer tranquilamente el periódico, hacer sobremesa, etc. Pudimos visitar los jardines, pasear fuera al lado del Grand Canal. El hotel es principalmente para celebrar bodas, pero hay días que aceptan reservas

  Amazing stay

  We stayed here as part of a package to dine in Aimsir just before lockdown in October. we were shown around to our suite which was housed in one of the buildings overlooking the lake. The room was absolutely massive and so tastefully decorated. Huge bathroom as well with walk in shower and lovely toiletries. The view out of the window was like a postcard, especially with the autumnal colours. A lovely note was left from the restaurant which we thought was a great touch. Our friends were staying beside us in a different building with an equally beautiful suite. You can see that great care has gone into the design of the rooms. I've reviewed Aimsir separately but safe to say the best dining experience we've had the fortune of having. I do believe there is another restaurant on site also. The next morning we took a lovely walk around the premise which is really quaint with lovely architecture, a coffee shop and gift shop. We had breakfast in the orangery which was a simple, fuss free affair. This hotel is a great base for exploring Kildare and really is a hidden gem- we could not believe the value for our overnight stay.

  Standards are everything

  Lost its magic and standards have disappeared. Sad to say considering our wedding here in 2015 was the best 3 days of our life. At all cost return check in to Lyons Den and change back to resident bar.

  Lovely atmosphere at Christmas

  Its lovely here, really pretty, beautiful walking itineraries... stopped for coffee and cake on my partners birthday..the coffee could be better but its pleasant. Cake delicious. Had mulled wine on the way out and this needs reviewing ! I love mulled wine, vin chaud, gluwein ...but this was sickly sweet and strong, not necessarily alcohol strong but just thick and we ended up feeling really queasy after just one.... water it down tons and charge less perhaps but its not as it should be ! Otherwise a lovely afternoon!

  Peaceful location, doggy friendly with the exceptional Aimsir a delightful bonus

  This was the second time we stayed here in the past few months and we will most certainly be back next year again. We again travelled with our dog for an overnight stay and it is so nice to have such a lovely place within a 40 minute drive to stay with him. Slight delay on check in due to boiler problems in our allotted room, which would have been the same one as before. They swapped us at the last minute which was a shame as we did like the Patrick Kavanagh room as it is more dog friendly with a patio door. Alternative room was ground floor and nice so ok overall. Staff are helpful & very nice whilst the grounds are really well kept and rooms very clean. First stay we ate in Aimsir which is truly exceptional, the food is out of this world, the service phenomenal and the space so relaxing. Richly deserving of two Michelin stars there was no fault of any type, much of the food was very local with fish being the furthest to travel from the Atlantic coast. Without a doubt this was the best dining experience of our lives really outstanding. This time we ate in the Mill restaurant where the standard was very high also the food very well prepared and the service attentive and prompt. The "roaring" mill outside of the window is an interesting touch. Breakfast is very good in a nice, if a little drafty, space. Again good and attentive staff with very tasty food. We came here initially to get a night away before the last lockdown, it seems to be the only hotel in County Kildare that is dog friendly. We had emailed a few places to stay locally after I heard the owner of the Clanard Court Hotel on the radio appealing to Kildare residents to think about supporting local hotels, all hotels had vacancies but with the exception of Cliff at Lyons none have a dog friendly policy. Certainly when we want a night away and don't want to travel too far this will be the only place we will consider now. Such trips are normally spur of the moment and out of season I really find it difficult to understand Irish hotelier's attitude to dog friendly rooms. Still it will be very much to the Cliff at Lyons benefit as time goes on.
