  Great stay

  This hotel was very clean (even the parking lot!), the staff was excellent and helpful and it was a very enjoyable stay. We stayed for a family reunion at Oubache State Park and this hotel was perfect for it! We could quickly go back and get something at the hotel if we forgot it. Many from my family stayed here and I am pretty sure we will stay at this hotel at the next reunion. I also felt very safe.

  Reviewing this wonderful hotel even before we leave!

  We are only staying one night but I wanted to write a review before we left. This hotel is really great. It's the added touches that make a hotel stay memorable and this hotel has many added touches that mean alot to me 1) Excellent lighting in the room! - One of the best lit rooms I've stayed in. There are like 5 lights and most of them have 2 bulbs each. I was thrilled to see the reading lights on each side of the bed. These lights are on a bendable hose that can be adjusted to the position that is best for you. No more adjusting a table side lamp shade to let out as much light as possible. 2) Tons of USB ports throughout the room. Each side of the bed has a lamp with a USB port as well as the desk. No more having to charge my phone on the desk, while I am sitting in the bed. 3) Hot shower with great water pressure. I wish I could transport this hotel to each of my travel locations.

  My family likes to stay here.

  Our home is too small to host all our out of town kids and grandkids. So, since we live so close we book CInn for our extra bedrooms! Our kids appreciate a warm breakfast, the pool and hot tub, and clean rooms. Staff was good about my changing dayes a couple of times previous to our family Christmas get together.

  Celebrating the anniversary of our 1st (blind) date.

  My wife and I decided to get away for a weekend and I suggested we go to Bluffton where we met at Oubache State Park for our 1st (blind) date 6 years ago. I chose Comfort Inn to spend the weekend. I use to travel about 20 years for my job and have had good experiences with this chain. That is until today 7-5-2020 when the toilet in my room overflowed into the floor. I went downstairs and notified desk staff of the problem about 6:00 p.m. when the problem happened. The desk staff told me to use the towels in my room to clean up the mess and bring them down to the desk and he would replace them 1 for 1 with clean linen. I replied that job typically is handled by hotel staff not the guests. He replied that I should have reported the problem sooner when there was cleaning staff on the clock; said they have left for the day and he was the only one working the desk. I told him there's no way I'm bringing towels that are soaking wet with shitwater down the stairs to the desk. He said it wasn't the hotel's responsibility to clean up a mess a guest made. He said other guests were cooperating with the COVID-19 virus risks and cleaning up their own messes. Reluctantly I said I would clean things up if he had a toilet plunger I could use to unclog the toilet. I got back to my room and decided to contact Comfort Inn's customer support line and see what they say about this. I was on hold for over 15 minutes before I got a corporate phone number that said they were closed for the weekend and call back Monday. Now the desk clerk is knocking on my door with a clothes basket, small thin plastic waste can bag and a plunger for my use. I politely told him that I would do it if he took $50.00 off my bill as I'm not on hotel staff. He said he wasn't going to do that because all guests have been cooperative with the COVID-19 situation and cleaning up even their own vomit and he didn't see why I was being so difficult. He said the hotel would then hire a carpet cleaning company to disinfect the carpet. I asked how they could do that when even the medical experts don't know how COVID-19 is transmitted. He said they are the experts. I said we could get a 24 hour plumber in here to take care of the problem because the toilet is still plugged. Oh, no we can't do that desk staff said. He said the water coming out of the toilet was clean because they put chlorine tablets in every tank to kill germs. Then in a smartass tone desk staff said he can go back down to the desk and contact the G.M. and let them know that he was going to have to leave the desk unattended so he could put on the COVID-19, mask and gloves and get the cleaning disinfectant and mop up the toilet water on the floor. I said you better make the call then. While desk staff was making calls and getting suited up I looked into the toilet tank to see these chlorine tablets. Just as I thought, I was being lied to, there wasn't any. Upon desk staff return I had plungered the toilet and freed the obstruction. He sprayed the floor with a clear liquid in a plastic spray bottle and used what looked like a duster type of mop. Better than nothing. He was thorough and got the whole floor and foyer to the room. I politely thanked him for cleaning up the mess. Then I asked to see the chlorine tablets in the toilet tank. He himmed around and said the floor is wet in there and we might slip. I politely said I plow snow and I can handle slick surfaces. We went in and he lifted the tank lid and said there should have been some tables in there. I said I don't appreciate being lied to and dismissed him from the room. He said he could get some and put in the tank. I said that won't be necessary. So in summary I would NOT RECOMMEND this hotel to anyone !

  Very Nice Stay...Fantastic breakfast!

  Very nice, clean, comfortable room and bed. The extra soft water makes the bathtub slippery and it's hard to rinse soap off. But the facility is clean and well kept. Front desk clerk was new and could use a bit more customer service training. Rest of the staff was friendly and accommodating. Nice extra in the lobby...cookies and lemon-infused water, self serve. The best free breakfast I've had in any hotel/motel I've stayed in. I highly recommend this property and plan to stay there every time we visit Bluffton. Love the waffle maker that makes "mini" waffles instead of those huge things.
