  Nice hotel

  Nice hotel. Photos you see online are genuine and accurate. Near night market about 5 mins walking distance. Sea view from room. Great service from staff. Beds are comfortable.Will definately choose this if come again.

  Something is wrong with the ratings

  I dont understand how this hotel made it to number 1 in Hualien. It clearly could never be. The rooms are old and not very clean. Our windows were very dirty. My wife was bitten by bugs all through the night. The breakfast was a disgrace and not anywhere close to what is written in all those 5 star ratings. The 1, 2 and 3 star ratings seem to describe the truth more acurately. For me this was the biggest gap between rating and reality I ever experienced on Trip Advisor. On the plus side: our room had a beand new aircon and a seemingly recently renovated bathroom. Staff were friendly, no doubt.

  Hualien BnB- review

  We stayed 2nights at Constellation Coast at Hualien. Though it is not exactly opposite the sea, but one can view the sea from the room windows. The sea would be a 2min walk. The rooms are spacious n had all the basic ammenenities. The Hualien TRA station is about 10mins cab ride and would cost about 150 NTD. The BnB is also very close to the Hualien night market, about 5-6 mins walk. A vibrant place where one can try various local Taiwanese food. The best part was that they served an awesome spread of breakfast. Nothing can beat a good breakfast when on vacation. The staff ensured that we were at ease and could understand basic English.

  Walking distance to Dongdamen night market

  There are abundant B&B in the same vicinity. Room is old but spacious. Friendly service and breakfast is simple but adequate. Walking distance to night market and less than 10 mins ride from the railway station

  Just an average hotel

  According to the ratings here, it basically should be the best hotel in Hualien but do not let yourself be fooled. It's not a perfect gem without a possibility of improvement, on the contrary. It's an average hotel with a very good service and great location but the rooms desperately need renovation. Reading the reviews before booking, I got the understanding that this 5-star rating is clearly inflated and with that mindset, Constellation Coast B&B was not a disappointment. We arrived much later in the evening than planned but despite that the manager had kept a (free) parking spot for us in front of the hotel. So we were off to a good start and the service was actually very attentive for the 2 nights we were there. The room itself was tired - there was some peeling paint, cracked wall coverings and other minor deficiencies. But it was clean and our room had 2 huge beds (I travelled with my wife and 2,5 year old daughter) and being on the higher floors, it was quiet at night. The breakfast was good, nothing too fancy but it was tasty and filled the stomach. What we also liked was the location - vibrant and lively night market just around the corner and a seaside promenade across the street. So if you are looking for an OK Hualien lodging in a good spot for a good price then Constellation Coast B&B is a place for you. But do not go there hoping it's the best hotel you have ever been (or the best hotel in Hualien) - it's not.
