  A ver, el hotel no está mal, mucho mármol, moquetas impecables, brillantes lámparas, piscina... La caña es cómoda. Renovado hace poco, tiene un toque "old style", que a mi no me agrada, depende los gustos. El wifi es malo. Si piensas trabajar en la habitación o comunicar con la familia por Skype, imposible. Eso para mi era importante. El check in fue malo, porque las dos personas no hablaban buen ingles. Tampoco fueron muy amables, y la imagen externa en estos hoteles suele ser mejor. A esta categoría de hotel, me gusta cuando los cosméticos (jabón, crema) son buenos (o de marca). Aquí no es el caso. Lo peor es el desayuno, por debajo de la expectativa, el bufé está en un pasillo, los croissants son pésimos y el café malo. Cuidado con aparcar en el parking contiguo porque aun siendo clientes del hotel nos sacó un vigilante 50 RMB (Holiday Inn)

  Visita a Zhengzou

  Realmente un hotel 5 estrellas de verdad. Donde el lujo, la comodidad, la atención, la comida, la limpieza y el descanso, logran reunirse todo en un solo lugar. La comida es de verdad de primer nivel, la calidez de las personas y la atención de primera lo hacen un gran, gran hotel donde hospedarse. Siempre volvería.

  Beautiful Hotel

  I was with a group traveling to Zhongzhou for a conference. We Stayed at this lovely old hotel which was very accommodating. Most staff spoke English and were very helpful when making plans. The rooms were plentiful, clean and quiet. Unlike most hotels these were nonsmoking. The breakfast was good with mostly Chinese fare

  Nice Stay

  Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights while on a business trip. There are 2 other major hotels in the same compound, namely the Sofitel and Holiday Inn Express. Behind the hotel is a massage center where you can have a foot or body massage for a resonable price. Prices and types of massage are displayed in English also. The hotel rooms are quite spacious and comfortable. Buffet breakfast is not an issue for anyone as they have both western and Chinese selections. The Italian restaurant, Mama Mia, on the ground floor serves pizza, pasta and meat dishes. If you wish to try other food, there are restaurants along and opposite the hotel. The staffs are very helpful and are able to converse in English. CNN and BBC news are available in your room television. Wifi is free and available throughout the hotel.

  Elegant hotel with some problems of aging

  This is an elegant old style hotel with grand lobby - marble columns and staircase with guilded wall decoration. I had a suite which was very well appointed. Very comfortable bed. Very quiet room even with the windows open. Problems - the AC didn't work, blowing hot air no matter what the thermostat setting - I turned it off. Also there was a periodic smell from the toilet. Other than that it was excellent. The hotel has several restaurants including a very nice breakfast and dinner buffet. An excellent value for the price.

  Bad Luck with Crown Plaza again

  Bad luck with Crown Plaza again I must admit that I had no positive experience with almost any Crown Plaza I stayed in the past years, and this time Crown Plaza Zhengzhou in Henan province China really made me decide that I will not stay with any Crown Plaza again. I was in Zhengzhou for a short stay to meet a potential business client, and Crown Plaza was located in the CBD where the client was. Some research on the net showed mixed experiences but overall no dramatically negative comments, and therefore I clicked to confirm my booking with reward points for one night. Location was in the CBD vicinity and the premises looked it had its golden age passed long ago. Front desk staff was polite but not proactive nor attentive. During check-in process they had always been distracted by people jumping the queue with all sorts of funny questions and requests. Someone assigned to do the house keeping at front desk during peak hours would manage the situation much better. The room was small but adequate for my purposes although the nostalgic deco was not to my taste. Flat panel TV but in smallish size. Primitive bath room consisted of a toilet bowl next to a bathtub which served also as a make-do shower booth with a plastic curtain. The room was unusually warm when I entered after check-in and I noticed that air condition was not functioning, but I didnt deal with it because I had to rushed to the appointment and thought that it might work out fine when I was back. However my wish was not materialised and the air-conditioning was just not working at all. Checking with the front desk and I was told the air-conditioning was not activated because the weather just turned warm after a cold spell and it might cool down again in the evening! But it was 6:30 pm, and my room was like 30°C+ after a days sunlit without air-conditioning for cooling down. I was offered options to either keep the small 1/4 part of window open, or changed to another room also without functioning air conditioning. I declined the offers because 1) keeping the widow open would allow inflow of noise and unpleasant odour from the kitchens nearby 2) change to another room without functional air-conditioning would be waste efforts. So I decided to checked out after only a few hours of checking-in, without any refund of points or compensation. I didnt mind that because I really wanted to get away from it, and moved to the InterContinental nearby. This time, plus all past less than pleasant experiences with Crown Plaza in different cities in China and in Europe, I decided to take it out from my listing of preferred hotel accommodation.

  A rare heritage hotel in Zhengzhou

  This hotel located in the old downtown and has been around for many years and from the pictures in their hotel corridor you can see many previous dignitaries and state leaders were staying in this hotel before. Although it is a Crowne Plaza but the architect and ambience still portraying the old glamour and history of the hotel. Room is a bit small in size but it has all my need for business traveler, room is clean and breakfast is good.
