  Just needed a room near Kingsbay Naval Base 1 night before an event

  We arrived in the poring rain and there are many buildings to this 2 story hotel (with no elevator). I walk with a walker, so i realized I wouldn't be able to use the bathtub-shower. They willing changed our room to an ADA room. The facility is somewhat dated, but clean. The main building has breakfast included. There is a stand-alone screened in pool. Wi-fi worked and was included. The price was very reasonable. If you stay in a 2 room suite, there is a family room/kitchenette with a full-sized refrigerator - you could comfortably have kids that needed room (and the TV was big). no complaints; we would return to the friendly place.

  Will not refund due to website booking error

  I was searching availability to book a hotel room for July 31st. on their website. Somehow, the reservation was booked for July 9th. I never received an email confirmation. I called to reschedule the reservation and that's when they told me I had already missed my reservation for July 9th and come to find out, the website had pre-selected the July 9th dates, not my July 31st date I was trying to book. I ended up getting charged $89 and they will not refund me or move that payment to the date I wanted to reschedule for. She said "I don't think I can do that". She wouldn't even try! This was clearly an honest mistake and they will not do anything to help me. I'm out money for not even going when I was under the impression my reservation was for July 31st. Poor handling for customer service.

  Not what I expected

  Very disappointed the room smelled and gave me a headache. Grabbed spray and candles just to get through night. Basically was in my car more than the room. Mold in room everywhere was literally disgusted checked out early.

  Above & Beyond

  Our transmission blew on I95 ;we were pulling a travel trailer. (And this was during the coronavirus pandemic). Although arriving late via tow truck, we were graciously welcomed, allowed to park our travel trailer near our room. We got 10% off on our pizza delivery too, so we actually quit enjoyed ourselves. The room was very clean, with extra coffee maker & fridge too. Melissa Braun, the general manager was the nicest part. She was so personal and understanding; loaning me a charge cord for my phone and letting us leave our travel trailer in their parking lot for the 3 extra days at no charge while our transmission was repaired. People are so nice! Thanks!

  Don't stay in St. Marys

  We chose a hotel in St. Mary because we were taking the ferry to Cumberland island. Big mistake. This hotel looked abandoned. When we got to the room, the musty smell was awful. Thankfully, we were able to get a full refund. We ended up staying in Fernandina Beach. The Hampton Inn was amazing.
