  Excellent stay for exploring Tohoku

  We stayed at Daiwa Roynet Koriyama during our excursion in Tohoku, mostly to take advantage of its cheaper cost (comparing to similar hotels in Sendai) and proximity to JR station. The room was quite spacious comparing for a business hotel, and the bathroom was gigantic with a separate area for shower and bath. The room comes with plenty of amenities, and being less than 1 year old, everything was brand new and shiny. Wi-Fi speed was great and encrypted. The front desk staff was very friendly (even by Japanese standards) and everyone goes the extra mile to help you out. Some staff speak fluent English. We had no problem communicating some complex luggage logistic stuff with them. The housekeeping was amazing, but that's what we come to expect from most Japanese hotels. The hotel is about 2-minute walk to JR Koriyama station, and we were able to reach the Shikansen platform in under 4 minutes. The only downside is that Koriyama is a smaller station and not every Shinkansen stops there. There are several car rental shops within walking distance. Parking was plenty despite it being in downtown. The JR Station offers quite some dining and shopping options, and there is a Family Mart and a Lawson next to the hotel. We would definitely consider staying at this hotel again for excursions along the Tohoku Shinkansen and nearby area.

  Excellent price and very little to criticise.

  Cannot criticise much here. All very good, especially the price. For improvement, Id like to see decent razor blades (those are very bad), more bath towels and, for breakfast, pork fried paddies should be served separately from sauce, and not mixed & mushy. Otherwise, you pay excellent price for a great hotel, attentive staff, quick check out, fabulous shower, TV WITH TIMER OFF BUTTON (so rare these days) and a gorgeous breakfast including nama tamago!!!

  Great hotel- new, clean, nice breakfast

  Hotel is just opposite to the train station and very convenient. There is a convenient store on the first floor of the building and the train station has quite a few restaurants. The room is new, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is also great with many selection. Will definitely return.

  Very well located

  This hotel is located just opposite Koriyama station, and very convenient for shopping, nice view of the interesting vicinity of Koriyama station and specially during night a spectacular lighting. Surrounded by lots of eating joints of all variety.

  Hotel review

  Stayed for 5 nights. Hotel was nice and clean and conveniently opposite the main train station. amenities was nice (large bottles of soap and shampoo). Bedroom slippers and nightrobe fresh each day. Pillows and bed was super comfy. Highly recommend for family and business if you are stopping through for a few days as you can take the train on to visit other parts in the beautfiful Fukushima or Tohoku area.
