  FABULOSO REMANSO DE PAZ

  Estilo, ubicación, servicio recepción personal excelente. Comodo, tranquilo, muy confortable y bien atendido profesionalmente. despues de una estancia de algunos meses, mi experiencia ha sido de notable para arriba. Personal compuesto por profesionales discretos, atentos y educados. Vale la pena y volveré.

  Historical Hotel, Old Fashion in Style, Good Old German Style Service

  We booked the hotel for a special arrangement for 3D/2N on half board, free use of wellness center, a free half hour massage and including Kronus card for free transport in the Black Forest. Check in with an autocratic polite mannered reception staff. The room is small but with plenty of cupboard space. The bathroom is compact. Breakfast served over a buffet, with plenty of choices, on the other hand, dinner at the main dining room with a 3-course menu. The restaurant is nice old style with white table linen. Staff is professional. Food is nice and well prepared. The wellness center is relatively small for the size of the hotel but enjoyable. Love the indoor pool, but the hydro pumps did not work in part. One sauna, one has to be naked to enter, one steam room works well and some treatment rooms, gym, and relaxing areas. Massage treatment is good, the staff knows their job. On the downside the free Wifi is nonexisting. The signal is disastrous. Only works in one little corner at the reception area. When asked what the problem is staff informed the wifi is under maintenance, which isn't true as it works in the lobby area. We guess they have an outdated system operational. The hotel has a rich history and started in the year 1895. One can smell this in most of the public areas of the musky old smell. (we stayed in the midst of the winter). Overall we had an amicable experience, Freudenstadt is a nice old German city with much to see and to do, but we do not think we will return.

  Tired

  This is a grand old style hotel which has seen better days. Our room was fine but the outlook was onto dilapidated buildings at the rear and there was no air conditioning. On arrival late afternoon I asked for the bar and was told it was at the far end of the building. I walked the length of the building to find it shut and on return to reception I was then told 'yes that is correct'. The bar did not open at all that night as far as I can tell. There is plenty of parking and the place was very busy so it must appeal to a lot of people. It really needs a major upgrade for the 21st century.

  Family trip

  It was my first visit to this hotel and the town of Freudenstadt. We stayed here for 4 days. I liked the location of the hotel, not really central but just a few easy minutes walk to the town and I liked it that way. The room was clean and the mattresses were very comfortable EXCEPT for the rollaway bed. The management DIDT care about its quality. Pity! The breakfast was GREAT! We were there on half board and the dinner was not satisfactory at all. BUT the waitresses were SO nice, kind and friendly. Id book this hotel again but definitely without dinner!

  Good value hotel in Black Forest

  We stayed here to break a journey back to the UK from Switzerland. Booking (via email) was effortless and efficient. Rooms were small but clean and comfortable which made them ideal for our stop. Showers were old and bathrooms very compact, but everything worked well. There is a spa which whilst I didnt use my friends said was good. Be prepared for the usual mid European approach to saunas etc. - mixed and naked. There is a very nice and reasonably priced bar. Breakfast was good and service also very good.
