  Welcome to the projects!

  The establishment has no wash clothes! Heat in room does not work. Ceilings all have pain chipping on them in huge clumps. Bed has no support and sinks in. Only one thin blanket offered per room. Halls smell like marijuana. Breakfast was placed out 34 min late, so if you are catching a flight good luck eating before. Staff had glassy red eyes and was no where in sight for check in. Stood at desk for 20 min upon arrival waiting for him. Overcharged for the room. This place was the dirtiest run down hotel ever and I am shocked it is able to stiff conduct business.

  WE WOULD NOT STAY HERE AGAIN

  we choose this location due to its proximity to mall of america and some restaurants we wanted to try. but we would not recommend this hotel. no offense to you dog owners out there but we had 2 barking dogs (one right across the hall) and that owner would take the dog outside right beside the rear entrance (we were right next to that rear entrance) and allow the animal to do its business in the snow right beside the doorway. nice mess to walk through each time you come and go right ? none of the entrances that we used locked. so there anyone could walk in anytime without a key card. not good especially when our room is right beside one of the entrances. we asked the front desk about it. i got the impression they knew full well and that it had been that way for awhile. unacceptable !! we had no face cloths or hand towels and when we asked for them we got none. we had to ask a second time and were given one of each. they said they had no more. the internet was sketchy. no password required. slow. and you had to scan for it and sign in again each time you logged out. never seen that before anywhere. the pool was closed when we arrived. not a big deal for us but may have been for others. the tub drain was plugged but was corrected. the message light on our phone always blinked. they said it always does that. so how would we know if someone was trying to reach us ?? the main parking lot was poorly plowed. very icy. and was very poorly lit. there was more lighting on the rear side. the heater control did not work. the heat never stopped. we had to constantly turn the heat on and off otherwise it would be wayyyyy too hot. and yet there seemed to be no heat at all in the hallways or the lobby. the small breakfast offered was fine. we did not really care as we go out for brkfst. but you can certainly get coffee, juice, milk, cereal, water, etc. some of these things mentioned may be not be a huge deal but it shows there is just no attention to problems here. it seems to be very poorly run. i knows "days inn" is a budget friendly name brand but in my opinion this location does not even meet minimum standards to be part of this chain. compared for example to the days in we stayed at in duluth.....they are not even close. i believe trip advisor has this place as a 21/2 star. i don't think it even deserves a 2. sorry. on a positive note.....the room was clean and in decent condition. good tv options. lots of restaurants close by and not far from mall of america.

  no blankets, hand towels or wash cloths

  By Days Inn standards, this one is well below par. Our room had bath towels and a bath mat but no hand towels or wash cloths. There were no blankets on the beds or anywhere in the room - the beds were made up with just sheets and a light-weight duvet... in February in Minneapolis, for Heavens sake! Wifi connection in the room was so bad it was unusable. Adding insult to injury, the orange juice at the breakfast bar was Tang or similar orange-flavored drink, not real juice. We wont be staying here again. At least the shuttle van driver was nice.

  House Keeping was off that week.

  When you walk in the room it doesn't feel clean. It doesn't smell clean. My room was far from clean. Garbage on the floor, in the corners of the room. Bathroom floor was not cleaned. Furniture has stains and scratches. TV looks like its been beat up. Faucet in shower was OVER taped with plumbers tape with poor water pressure. I was only there from 10:30 pm until early morning. I would never return here especially with my family.

  A bit below average even with a good rate

  Theres really nothing irredeemably wrong with this place. Its possible to get a good nights sleep and decent cup of free coffee in the morning. Its general location is convenient near two major highwaysbut there are tons of hotels in this area that fit that bill. The immediate neighborhood is a little weird. Its both dilapidated and under re-development but feels industrial. This hotel is on the dilapidated side. There were a few shady-seeming people around, like a group huddled around a fire in the back of the pothole-filled parking lot. My room was supposed to be nonsmoking but reeked of cigarettes. Most of the first floor near the entrance smelled like marijuana. The carpet looked like it hadnt been vacuumed in weeks. The ceiling and walls were in disrepair. The room was generally okay save for trash under my bed. The tv was large but not HD and took a while to figure out how to get it to work with the two remotes (and Im generally good at that stuff). Wifi was spotty. Other than that whole hotel was very basic. Next time Ill choose a place accross the highway (either one) for a few dollars more.
