  Lovely friendly hotel

  Stayed at the De Ruyter for 4 nights in june with my partner and found the hotel to be very friendly,clean and welcoming and in a great location, being only a few minutes walk from the town centre and all the shops and bars. The owner and staff are very helpful and the breakfast buffet varied and plentiful.We sat in the conservatory for breakfast every day and it was a pleasure.The weather was pretty miserable and cold for june or we could have sat outside on the terrace. The owner also provided different gluten free bread and pastries each day for my partner. A lovely touch that she much appreciated. The hotel provides free hot drinks from a machine all day which we found very welcome after a long day out. Parking is on the street outside the hotel and is expensive but the hotel provided a full day permit for 5 euros. Much cheaper! Overall a lovely hotel, very clean, welcoming and comfortable. Oh and Vlissingen is a delight for a break in Holland. Would definitely return to the De Ruyter.

  a very clean and comfortable hotel

  as above spotlessly clean and very comfortable hotel . location brilliant very close to the beautiful boulevard and close to a shopping mall and nearby restaurents. nice bedroom with a beautiful balcony with a very impressive view of the sea and the many ships that went past. breakfast was plentiful and lovely conservitory and splendid roof garden. hotel staff very helpful indeed.

  Noisy and expensive

  This hotel is well located close to the beach, port and city center, so quite convenient. The rooms are a bit old fashioned, we choose the deluxe room but we don't know why it is called "deluxe", 2 split beds, not made, sheets are folded on the top. The mattresses are so soft that it was very difficult to sleep. The room face directly to the busy and noisy Street even if we required a quiet room, the soundproofing is not good enough you can ear everything from the other side of the window (cars, people talking, music, scooters...) This doesn't help to sleep properly. Moreover, the main door of the room is in front of the entrance hall so that you can ear other people and doors slamming until late night. At breakfast time you can hear everybody walking loudly in front of your door then enjoying their breakfast just behind the wall of your bedroom while you are trying to sleep... However, the breakfast is quite good but the price for one night is really too expensive and not worthy, more than 150 is not justified.

  A Nice pleasant hotel for a flying visit.

  We stayed here for 2 nights after we booked last minute and this was our best option out of the few hotels left available in the area. First impressions was a very warm welcome from the owner of the hotel, providing me with lots of information about the area along with a show of where everything is. Another mention on the arrival was the lovely clean smell of the hotel as you walk in.....always a plus. The bedroom and bathroom was spacious and clean with a nice hot shower. We had breakfast both mornings during our stay and it had everything you needed. Lots of fresh bread and sweet options, eggs, coffee and fresh orange juice....what more do you need. Great attention to detail with the hotel and would highly recommend if you want a comfortable and pleasant stay.

  Good bed

  Only stayed for one night. The bed was comfy and premises super clean and quiet. The staff / owner was absolutely fantastic, very helpful and kind. I had an early start, so he decided he'd open the breakfast room little earlier, so I could at least have coffee. But I was actually greeted with a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice and choice to pack my breakfast to go. Just perfect, what can I say.
