  Very special place with lots of history

  As others have stated a great location hotel close to all attractions all within walking distance, quiet location and easy to find from the metro station. Good breakfast, if you want a hot option you need to request it the day before. Now to the staff, we are writing this whilst still at the property. A big big thankyou to Sheila who has gone out and beyond to help us over our 4 night stay all the staff though in the background are and have been fantastic. This may not be the cheapest hotel in Lisbon but you get what you pay for. We have traveled for over 35 years and this stay will be in our top 10 places to stay.

  Dear Lisbon Bordalo House long weekend visit

  We had originally booked to stay at Dear Lisbon Valmor Palace but unfortunately they had to close this and moved us to the Bordalo House with an upgraded room instead. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. They responded promptly to my email enquiries about room specification and trip advice before our arrival. Bordalo House is a small renovated property with lovely high ceilings and a nice bathroom. As noted in some reviews, there are quirks with this guesthouse: only one very small bin in the bathroom (so couldn't dispose of a newspaper for example), no drawers for clothing storage and no tissues but they had provided a complement of disposable toothbrush, small tube of toothpaste, soap, shampoo and shower gel. But nice touches too with bathrobe and slippers and coffee machine provided. Breakfast was very nice too although they start at 8am which was a little too late for 2 of the 3 mornings of our stay as we had early departures for a trip planned plus the morning of us leaving Lisbon but they do take your specific requests for how you wish to have your eggs prepared for breakfast (scrambled or boiled, with or without bacon!) - again a nice little touch. Would definitely stay with this group of guesthouses if I were to visit Lisbon again.

  Excelente pequeño y lujoso hotel

  Hotel ubicado en un antiguo palacio, de 9 habitaciones y muy bien situado, muy cerca de la plaza de Camoes y los sitios de interés. Pero en una calle tranquila. Habitaciones espaciosas y nuevas, al igual que los baños. Cama grande y muy cómoda. La sala de desayuno, es la antigua cocina del palacio, agradable. Riquísimo y variado desayuno. La noche anterior te preguntan si quieres huevos revueltos y bacon. Excelente servicio muy atento a cualquier necesidad. Recepción 24 horas. Nos encantó y repetiremos si regresamos a Lisboa. No tiene ascensor. Solo 2 plantas.

  DISGUSTED!!!!!

  Unbelievable that a company that specializes in "HOSPITALITY" would refuse to refund our money due to a WORLD WIDE PANDEMIC! What kind of heartless and unprofessional company does this? We are ALL going through this traumatic and tragic crisis, some of us experiencing significant loss that will take YEARS to recover! I have pleaded and begged them for our money back multiple times, expressed my husband was laid off and my business shut down and they still DON'T CARE about the customer. Our entire Portugal trip was refunded with ease and understanding by all of our other reservations made, including inter-country airlines! Completely unheard of that a company would be this cold during such a hard time! I do not recommend staying in a hotel that doesn't care about it's customers! I hope you feel good about yourselves Dear Lisbon.

  Excellent service during the pandemic

  We unfortunately had to cancel our much looked forward to 2 night stay here, but I was so pleased that the hotel immediately offered us a voucher for our return next year. This is what I would expect during the pandemic,as we were unable to fly due to UK quarantine restrictions and timing. I am looking forward to our return in 2021 and enjoying my stay at Bordalo House. Thank you for the professional service.
