  Nice location, very average as for the rest.

  The apartment we stayed at is not cozy at all. It looks like it hasnt been renovated in 10 years. Not sure why its considered a four star hotel. From the bright side, it has a nice view and I enjoyed sitting outside on the balcony. The spa is ok, but didnt make up for the rest of the experience.

  So unfriendly I thought I was on a game show

  Check in is at 1700h, that's late but ok. When we arrived at 16:40 they made us - together with many other families wait until exactly 1700h. ordnung muss sein. You can imagine the line at 1700h too. We where two families, 5 kids in total running around with the other kids. A blast! Our room was ready but the friends wasn't they had to wait another 30 minutes. Part from a what I can only describe as a totally disconnected workforce, who really doesn't give a flying wazoo what you think the buildings are old, and parking is at the top of the hill. If you have kids, and luggage prepare to walk and stairs. They'll boot your car if you park in front of the reception because, ordnung muss sein. Food was okish but service was rushed, understaffed and well, disengaged. Overall for the price this is a run down unfriendly inconvenient place they could not pay me to stay. Could it hurt to put some lights up for your guests too? We literally are leaving a day sooner because check out is at 10am! Only positive thing is it's only a 4 hour drive from home. Never again.

  Nice rooms, but...

  Needing a hotel in Winterberg, we found Dorint online. Before we booked, I asked if I can charge my all-electric car at their premises. A quick reply followed, stating that the hotel does not have this, but the go-cart race track next door does. So we booked. After checking in we went to our room. A lovely room indeed. Recent redone, very nice. But... The go-card race track next door does not have a car charger. Which created a horrible situation for us, arriving from a long distance. Talking to hotel staff about this did not help at all. They were indifferent. We found a spot 7 km away, and had to await there for hours. Sigh. Reaching out to the hotel again on this after we got home led to silence. They just do not seem to care. And that is the most disappointing part of it all. If you own an electric car, be careful with what they say. You might run into issues with this hotel.

  Hotel/houses in an amazing area

  We rented a house from the hotel, and it was really nice and had everything we needed, and with a fabulous view on the area. Lots of parking space, and the hotel has a perfect location in the area. Several hiking trails start right near the hotel. And you are only on a 5 min drive of the city , 3 rodelbahns and several downhill bike trails.

  Great location, feels special

  Great facilities, lovely food, especially the breakfasts. Right on the slopes. Also provides that extra little something, feels like a little secret, tucked away from the masses, with each room and apartment your own little oasis.
