  Very happy stay

  Beautifully grand hotel sitting proud a place in Harrogate. I was staying here and working from the hotel while my house was being built. Check in was really quick and the staff were very polite and friendly. The room was covid-safe prepared which gave me loads of confidence in the professional manner in which the hotel was taking current restrictions. Really spacious room and was just perfect for what i needed. Breakfast was provided outside the room every morning which i thought was a nice touch. Fredericks bar is very grand and i can imagine it's buzzing with excitement usually. All in all a great Hotel, perfect location and amazing staff.

  A Fabulous Hotel & even more fabulous staff

  Very lucky to spend a week over Christmas at the fabulous Historic Majestic Doubletree Hotel. The first impressions in the luxurious lounge gave the impression of a palace (see photos) Despite the current COVID situation the hotel felt very safe & very warm friendly & Comfortable throughout our stay. We had a very quiet & comfortable room on the second floor which was very clean & well prepared with a garden view. The food was all excellent plentiful & well prepared especially Christmas Dinner, breakfasts, afternoon tea & room service. The staff were vey welcoming especially Lynn the Breakfast manager assisted by Max & Mariona. We will definitely return in the New year COVID 19 permitting and as Diamond members will be added to our list of favourite Hilton Hotels

  Majestic you excelled

  We wasnt sure it would be the same as last year but Majestic you went above and beyond for us all to have the most amazing Christmas and we certainly did. It was definitely a Christmas to remember. From our clean spacious rooms which provided everything we needed from comfortable big beds to wonderfully refurbished bath and shower rooms. Staff made us feel so unbelievably welcome, I couldnt name one staff member as every single one made us feel so at home and comfortable. First off was the wonderful Festive Afternoon Tea which was presented beautifully and exceeded all our expectations. Last years was lovely this years exceptional. The five courses for Christmas lunch were all of the highest tier, even though Harrogate was only in Tier 2, haha. During my review on Majestic last year I loved everything the only disappointment was I didnt get enough pigs in blankets. This year we managed to have pigs and blankets on all of our plates which was such a bonus and showed they had listened to feedback for improvement. This year Majestic were offering something a little different a Teepee Bar. Unfortunately due to all that has happened the Teepee Bar is now closed ( like everything this year) until January so we were unable to go. We saw it lit up and it looked brilliant and so effective so we will have to go back as soon as allowed to try out this unique bar. Thank you for pulling out all the stops Majestic we had a brilliant Christmas full of smiles full of fun and full of excitement. Although our stay at Harrogate had to be cut short due to the restrictions, Im sure it wont be long till we are back there, carrying on from where we left off. My 90 year old Grandad even said This is the best Christmas ever which just shows theyve done remarkable due to the circumstances.

  Lovely Christmas at Majestic

  Stayed at the lovely majestic Hotel over the Christmas period ideally close to the town centre. Reception was fast friendly and welcoming. Room (227) was immaculately spacious and comfy with a great power shower, refreshments tray and good toiletries plus added extras of robes, ironing board and coffee machine. Big comfy bed and quiet nights sleet. Great views over the gardens and Harrogate. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and so were the superb evening meals. The spa treatments and pool are a treat. My Christmas stay at this superbly decorated hotel was great and I would definitely return. A big shout out to Debi in reservations, Lyn restaurant, Lyndsy late maid and Vicky housekeeping. They all made my Christmas stay memorable. Excellent service

  Christmas Stay

  The hotel is lovely. The front of house staff were able to accommodate us at short notice when our previous arrangements were cancelled due to the Coronavirus situation. The staff also helped us arrange for meals elsewhere over the Christmas period as their internal 'package' was fully booked. Legislation regarding social distancing and alcohol consumption was applied rigorously during the first few days of our stay, but this changed when a group of over 100 men women and children' invaded' the place over Christmas. Judging from their vehicles, they were not without money, but there was little evidence of any social graces or courtesies! Initially the front of house staff strove valiantly to impose discipline but to no avail. This group did not wear masks, did not socially distance , and was not prepared to play by the rules linking alcohol to the the sale of food. In short order, the staff capitulated and the group essentially took the place over for 3 days with no regard to other guests. They also brought in their own alcohol and were drinking it quite openly in the public areas. I can only put this situation down to weak and inept senior management (who were conspicuous by their absence) or a cynical opportunity to gain short term financial benefit. After my wife was assaulted by one of these people I went to reception and demanded that something be done. There was sympathetic wringing of hands and I was asked to write down details of what had taken place. I was then told that this would be left for the night staff to deal with. Some time later I noticed Police in reception in 'vigorous' discussion with members of this group which eventually dispersed. However, it was the same the following evening albeit with a smaller group of participants. Not recommended if you value your health. I really wanted to give this hotel a positive review but it would be inaccurate.
