  Horrible!! Don't be fooled!

  This "hotel" connected to the casino is dirty, and smells of mold and stale urine. I almost gagged coming through the doors. This is more on line of what you would expect of a dirty 30 bucks a night roadside flophouse, only thing missing was the roaches. Stayed only a single night after booking for a weekend, of course they couldn't refund my money for the next night as it was booked in advance. Went down the road and stayed in the MUCH NICER Hampton Inn.

  Don't stay when they have a band

  I'm in this hotel now. Second floor. Its 11:40 PM, Can't sleep due to the THUMPING resonating / vibrating in my head from some arcane music being played! Also the windows do not have the darkening shade.... so, not only won't sleep the sun will shine bright into the room first thing in the morning. NOT a great night ahead! Find another hotel in the area. Don't stay here if you want a night's sleep. Positives... Room is large. TV clear. They did give extra pillows. That's about it.

  Comfortable and great location

  Right on the grounds of the race track, my stay at Evangeline was excellent. Will stay again in the future when traveling to this location. Always pleasant. If travel brings you to Evangeline, do not hesitate to book your lodging here.

  Surprisingly Sooo Dirty!

  If you're worried about germs and staying clean after the pandemic then don't choose this place. Spent one night. When entered room, found the couch bed stuck open and would not close. Made me wonder if it had even been cleaned (which is a real concern since the coronavirus!) Was afraid to sit in the chair bc it had "unknown white stuff" all over it. It was obvious the furniture doesn't get cleaned. The shower had pubic hair all over its floor, so it had also not been cleaned. Supposed to be no smoking inside but entire hotel smelled like weed! Elevator, halls, by rooms..everywhere. I would've been so embarrassed if my kids had been with me. I know the workers smelled it but no one did anything about it. Hotel night clerk ignored it and was rude and unfriendly. Didn't even make eye contact once. The beds ARE super comfortable, though.

  Non-smokers beware!

  As you enter the front doors of the hotel there is a nice covered patio area on each side. Unfortunately they are both designated smoking areas, not only for guests but staff also. Not very inviting. So there is no outside area for non-smokers! Who does this??? Service is so so. They don't always follow up on services. There is no vent in the bathroom and shower pressure is awful. Also the water never really gets hot in the shower. Would not waste my money on this one. Looks cute on the outside but looks can be deceiving.
