  A comfortable stay

  Arrived as part of a group after a long coach journey to find an angry Englishman in reception complaining very vocally about everything and anything. Having been given our keys, we proceeded to our room with trepidation, however we were pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and tidy and all amenities appeared to be working. We even had tea & coffee making facilities in the room, which was unexpected for a continental hotel. The food was good and although the bar service was sometimes slow, the staff were very helpful and polite. The only fault that we could find was that we didn't feel that the air conditioning system in our room was coping with the mid 30's temperature outside. Even on full, the room was still not particularly cool and the system was noisy. Generally a very pleasant hotel, with friendly, attentive staff.

  Decent hotel in a good location

  We stayed here for five nights and having read some reviews, were a little apprehensive. The hotel as an off street car park, described as secure but at no time did we see the gate locked; however, we were never by the car park in the evening so it is possible that at night the car park is secured. Reception was efficient and friendly. Two staff were on duty, one of whom spoke good English. Our room overlooked the street but was quiet with the windows closed. Others have commented on the noisy or lack of effective air conditioning; ours worked perfectly so we didnt need to have the windows open, consequently no street noise. The room was spacious, clean and tidy. There was plenty of storage space although oddly no drawers, only shelves, not that this was a big problem. Bed was comfortable, there was a kettle (very important for English tea drinkers!), large bathroom, wi-fi was ok, not fast but plenty quick enough when you are on holiday. Breakfast was what youd expect in a French hotel, continental. Cereals, various breads, yoghurt, scrambled egg, fresh fruit, juices, coffee and tea, pastries. The breakfast room was functional but the main criticism we have of the Hotel is that the tables in the breakfast room werent cleared, if you were a bit later for breakfast (it started at 07.00 and one day we arrived at 08.30) things had run out. On that particular day, we saw no staff at all in the breakfast room, just a lot of used plates etc on tables. The outside pool was quiet and we were able to relax in the afternoons. The pool was clean and quite ok for a gentle swim. A small point which would take little to rectify would be to put at each end a notice indicating depth; at one end, it was deeper than I, at 1.7m, could stand in and potentially a problem for a non-swimmer.

  Sound and pleasant place

  This is an unpretentious place in the middle of Tain, located very close to the station and to the main wine showrooms. The staff are exceptionally pleasant and helpful, but the place is showing its age; it just looks a bit tired, thoughI gather than a renovation is imminent. On the other hand, the prices they charge are quite reasonable and the rooms have in them everything you might need, including proper baths. Breakfast was more than adequate and dinner was pretty good, so overall I was very happy with our stay, which was for 4 nights, entirely without problems.

  Small rooms

  This hotel was booked by my supplier during a business trip. It is a hotel with very basic interior and slow internet connection. In addition the not se from the street was very boring during my visit.

  Normalito

  Estado en familia en una Suite superior. Habitación muy grande pero sin terraza ni Jacuzzi así que de superior tiene solo el precio. Desayuno normalito. No apto para familias, mas que nada es un hotel para negocios.
