  Comfy bed

  The staff here who greeted me where really friendly and welcoming, so thank you! My room was nice and cosy but quite small for a double. Perhaps through error of my own, I didn't realise that the room didn't come with it's own bathroom. If I had known this I would have just booked a cheaper shared dorm room - I paid for the more expensive option to have my own space and was disappointed but this is probably my own fault. The room initially looked clean and was tidy - no dust anywhere, however the bedsheets and trunk/seat whatever it was, at the end of the bed had several stains on it, some of which looked like blood. The drawer next to my bed also had some dirt in it. There was no security safe in the room and one of the lights didn't work. Otherwise I slept okay - The bed was very comfortable and there wasn't too much noise from the street. The rest of the hostel seemed to have been recently repainted and is nicely decorated. However it has a funny feel to it - I was placed on the 'mens' floor, at the very end of the corridor so to use the toilets and showers I had to go all the way back down the corridor and then down a flight of stairs to the women's. The floors are very slippery (highly polished wooden boards) and extremely loud and creaky! I was scared I'd be waking up other guests when walking to use the toilet in the night. Overall, I'm not sure how I feel about this property, the staff were friendly and welcoming but I just wasn't sure about the rest of the property. Maybe it would feel different in the summer when it's busy and full of other people. I feel I could have just slept in a female dorm room and probably had it to myself as the property seemed completely empty, other than for a few older men.

  Terrible experience

  I dont reference to anybodyThe rooms are not as show on internet. The kitchen doesnt have basic things.Long way to get to toilet. You have to take a stairs ans if you are woman the recepcionist can see what you are wearing.Worst cancellation policy. Soon i arrived went back to reception to withdraw my long stay reservation. They said once check in no refund, not a single penny.Worst experience ever

  cancelled my booking hour before check in

  My booking was cancelled just before my check in. As per call from Booking.com it was because of overbooking. When my booking was made, everything was confirmed via the app and email. 4 days in advance.

  RECEPTION

  I Really had a good stay, staff were very helpful and friendly. I really enjoyed my stay at Forty 8 Backpackers Hotel. My room was clean every day, including bedding. Showers were spotless, and bathrooms were on point I WONT MIND FOR A NEXT VISIT WITH FRIENDS THIS TIME ARROUND.

  Accommodations were fine, but location isn't great if you're alone

  Kitchen, bathrooms, and room were all comfortable and clean. I felt safe inside the building. The surrounding area might be ok if you're with other people, but I was traveling alone and was harassed by people while walking around a couple times. It was still overall ok to walk around, and probably not a huge deal, but if I could do it over again I'd probably stay in a different area.
