  Very good, but dinner very expensive

  We stayed here for a few days and had a lovely sea view room in the Garden Terrace. The room was a good size with three full sized single beds (for three adults). There is a lovely coral beach and the sunset view form the pier is perfect. Lunch is good value but we found all of the onsite dinner options extremely expensive (buffet Y5500 per person excluding any drinks). Food is mainly geared towards Japanese tastes (not surprisingly) and fussy western eaters may find that there is little to tempt them. We arrived 5 November and discovered that the pool was closed even though the weather was warm and sunny, no clear reason for this. There is some construction work going on at the southern end of the site to build more accommodation, however this was not intrusive. Hope they add more car parking though as we had to use car park 3 which is about 200m away up the road. There is lots to do nearby, although a car is needed. Recommend the views at Kabira Bay, the limestone caves and the Yaima Village (get discount tickets form the hotel tour desk).

  average beach resort hotel

  Have been staying over the yaer-end. We arrived the island around 7:00 p.m. due to flight delay. Rent-a-car shop we had booked was closed at 5:00 p.m. and no hotel shuttle services available in the evening, so we had to line up to catch the cab in a driving rain. Unfortunately weather has been terrible - stormy, windy and cold - since we arrived the island. Anytime we are out from the room, we get wet even with hotel rent umbrella. Parking in the hotel is full so we have to park in the extra lot across the raod where there are puddles. You would need to go for brunch to avoid kids occupied dining. Bathroom is so small and tiny. Overall, staying in the hotel under rain is not much relaxing and comfortable. Hotel is designed to be under the sun.

  Nice modern resort with beautiful beach but some limitations

  Nice and modern hotel with big rooms with two seperate (did not find one big bed) beds, big shower room, nespresso coffe, air condition but with uncomfortable quilts in the beds. You got 1000 JPY to buy for at the hotel area if you didnt want cleaning, nice environmental aspect. We stayed here in the first week of jan. The bech was really nice, about 20-22 degrees in the ocean and 23 in the air and very nice staff at the Beach station that offered beach watch/guard and several different ocean activities. The sunset was beautiful and the ocean water so clean. Good sun beds. Free shuttle bus from airport and about 1.500 JPY, 20 min, taxi ride to the small city of Ishigaki. The food was really nice, both breakfast and dinner buffet. The dinner buffet was somewhat expensive. 5500 JPY. Generally very friendly staff and plenty of staff working there The bad aspects that lowers the overall grading down to almost 3/5 was that the pool area and the pool bar was closed even though the weather was nice. Also, 3 out of 5 restaurants was closed giving less options for eating! This was low season, but not reason enough for closing the pool area. The experience would have been so much better with open pool and pool bar. We could get late check out but to a price of 2000 JPY per hour (!), you might have thought that could have been free because of the low season and the low amount of guests. All over the hotel the english translations was limited and another facilty you thought should have existed but didnt was training facilities. Overall a nice place on a really nice location with some important service aspects to improve.

  Beautiful newly renovated resort hotel in great location

  This hotel has been completely modernized to a high standard. It is one of the only hotels I have stayed at in Japan which manages to sort of create the atmosphere you might find in a South East Asian resort. The staff were all very friendly. The huge beach is beautiful. The pool is very large and the kids water park excellent. Do not miss the indoor pool and especially the public bath if you go in summer. There is excellent WiFi throughout the resort. There are many restaurants a short distance away - our favourite was Funakura no Sato. I would definitely stay here again. NB We went in July 2020 when covid-19 restrictions were still in place and the hotel had more than adequate rules to cope with this. The hotel itself was only at around 30% occupancy which made it a very enjoyable and peaceful place to stay - it may be different in normal times.

  Great resort on perfect location

  High quality resort with great amenities. Fantastic terraced pool, brilliant children splash park, direct beach access with water activities. Carefully and continuously guarded pool and beach. Wonderful (and COVID safe) breakfast. Currently only 2 on site restaurants but plenty of options in Ishigaki at only 10-15 mins by taxi.
