  Aparthotel style with hostel amenities

  Pictures posted on G-Stay is quite deceiving, it appears with kitchen with stove and washing machine and one may be forgiven to think that it is of aparthotel format with everything you need inside. Well, no. To turn on washing machine for duration of stay, you ll need to pay extra 5,000 won. I didnt even ask for the gas stove. There is neither microwave, cutleries, plates, dishwashing soap. I stayed in a twin bed room, which is small. There is not even a table/study desk with chairs for you to sit on. TV is hung on the wall slightly uneven. Bathroom is ok - but neither toothbrush nor toothpaste provided. It is however clean and the beds are comfy and soft. I also had a small annoying experience with a woman manning front desk on my first day, beautiful lady but with no manners whatsoever. In the evening, after exchanging my room for another as I smelt a strong cigarette odor, I went down again to request to use the washing machine. The woman was on her phone at the time and asked me what i needed, so i told her my request. She gave me a timeout signal and ask me to wait. I obliged and sat down nearby thinking she must have an important call. It's not. I waited for about 5 minutes i think, and all this while she seems to be chatting with her friend, as i can hear giggling and laughing. This all stopped after a Korean couple arrived, driving in a car, and I can hear her stopping her chat and then she proceeded to help the Korean couple first. Wow, how rude! It is my first time to Korea and Seoul - and its really sad to see this kind of mannerism. Luckily on other shifts, there are other staffs around which are definitely more friendly, and thats why i am giving an average rating, and not a poor one.

  Terrible for family

  If you're a family visiting Seoul, this is NOT the place to stay. The beds are very uncomfortable. You can feel every spring coil on the bed. It is very very noisy. The hotel is on top of the train tracks and you can hear every train that passes by. The floors are not clean and the cupboards are sticky. The air conditioner hasn't been cleaned so black dust keeps falling onto the bed and pillows. The shower is terrible. The water pressure and temperature is hard to control and it may scald your skin. The room has a stove but there are no cutlery or cooking ware to cook things with. The room has a washing machine but there are no instructions on how to use it. Furthermore, we later found out that this neighbourhood is seedy. The only upside about this place is the staff is friendly and accommodating.

  Convenient for camp kim

  We stayed here for one night but had booked for two. It is just around the corner from Camp Kim and so very convenient for the 7am check in for the DMZ/JSA tour. Other positives: reasonable price, good WiFi, near to shops/bars/ eating places. Negatives: hard beds, train noise, no crockery or cutlery despite a hob being provided ( there were 2 small paper cups), towels the size of tea towels. We didn't stay the 2nd booked night and went elsewhere

  Willing to overlook some problems over the good location

  Location - It's very near the train station, alas, the train noise can be bothersome to some (just a heads up). As soon as you come out of Namyeong station, you can reach the comfort of your room. You are between two big metro station (Yongsan and Seoul Station), so going anywhere is pretty easy. There is a market and plenty of restaurant choices nearby. I am also able to see N Seoul Tower from my room (601). Facility - It's on the simpler side. Even though the picture shows a small kitchen, all the utensils are not provided. Bathroom is okay, but hot water can be difficult to control. Wifi is stable. However, some of the electricity sockets are loose, so charging needs extra attention. Free water provided every day! Also, heated floor is a godsend in the freezing weather. Personally, I think it would be better if the staff could at least vacuum the room instead of just giving us fresh towels and take out the garbage. The rooms could use a makeover soon too. Some of the facilities look ready to be renewed. The staff is friendly and accomodating!

  The best accommadation

  G Stay Residence....Really good place to stay so much.... G-Stay resident is nearly subway so much and a lots of shop around there. ( ex. Gs25 , 7 , Restaurant , Make up store ) Staff is very nice and kind so much.
