    Down Right Awful!

I have stayed her a few times and loved the property! the ponds, lights, down to the firepits are the most relaxing I have never had a problem until this last time! We stayed from Thanksgiving day until the following Monday to visit family. I had requested extra pillows because it was me and four kids. I called that morning to let them know we wouldnt be arriving until about 2 am it was a 12 hour drive for us to make sure everything was ok. I asked about the swimming pool they said everything was fine just no Jacuzzi. We got to check in the lady was awful she snapped when I asked what time the pool opened "well i dont know who lied to you its closed, dont try to go in there" um ok sorry but thats one reason i booked a room here. she then stated that my room was not a pond view and was on the second floor. as i told her that that i called litterally this morning and made sure I had one on the first floor they said i did. i even tried to lighten the mood and tell her that im going through chemo and have a fake knee im sure you dont want someone to have to pick me up as i fall down. i told her thats what i paid for she said again i dont know who lied to you um ok. they gave me a bungalow not even close to what i asked for. i brought 4 kids i wanted the trip to be awesome for them as well she then told us we would be in the bungalow for the first night but that we would then have to pack all of our bags and check out and come back at check in time to switch rooms WHATTTTT!!!! with four kids and a three year old does she know how hard this is. the second night we get back its around midnight we drove up to coos bay and back check in and its her again her attitude is WORSE! she tells us where our room is. we get settled mind you the air doesnt work. its hot in the room i called her to let her know she asked me "what do you want me to do about it" "theres nothing i can do" "why dont you open a window or a door" i got upset uhhhh i have a three year old and theres a pond outside are your crazyyyyyyy "well theres no manager here and no one i can call i dont know what to tell you" so i asked her again am i really paying for this she hung up on me and when itried to call back she wouldnt answer. the next morning i left to go run around town again meet family and i got a call from a landon. who apologized for the way she acted and asked if someone could go in the room to check it out.... this is the only reason im giving it two stars he stated that he left some extra pillows because he saw that they were in the reservation and i didnt get them as we get to our room that night the pillows where there with a little card that said sorry for the inconvience breakfast is on us. ok thanks for going the extra mile we order breakfast the next morning which comes out to72 dollars i ordered 4 trays of french toast some apple juice and hashbrowns when i gave the card she says oh this only covers one meal that my total was still 72 dollars and i said uh ok thats not what it says but whatever. landon calls apologizes on how he cant comp the whole meal no big deal i appreaciate you trying to make it right to begin with. the next night worse airs still not fixed my phone was unplugedd shower water started running like it was haunted i litterally stayed enough to take a nap then just packed out stuff and got out of there if it wasnt for a holiday weekend i would have left the first minute im really dissapointed in the time that we were there we never once got fresh sheets never got new towels nothingggggg never got any help that i asked for nothing! and when i asked for a hotel mangaer that lady told me there was none as i check out i talked to justin he had no problem telling me how to get the number. shes beyond bringing your service down! and i loved that place dont think i will stay there again.

    Great stay

Room was large and clean. Desk clerks friendly and helpful. Virtual assistant which I believe is front desk is helpful also. I love having a room that has a sliding glass door to the outside as I am a smoker so it is convenient for me to leave the room. Wifi is great so my kid could get his school work done. Overall..... great place for a great price. Convientlly located right off the freeway with a 7-11 less than a mile away.

    Bait and Switch!

Let's start with it being dark when we arrived...rookie mistake, an hour and a half prior to our arrival we received a detailed text from Lizzy (manager) stating our room was unavailable (red flag #1) and would be placed in a bungalow with a river view for a discounted price plus a $40 GC for the restaurant. You should be aware this hotel operates on text messages and when responding to their text messages it falls on deaf ears (red flag #2). 'Ivy' is their virtual system put in place to check in on your stay, if you need anything, oh and she also gives wrong information like the restaurant is open for lunch, it's not and you're hungry (red flag #3). Apparently, 'Ivy' is not allowed to respond either, corporate should consider spending more money cleaning the facility (red flag #4) and training staff than on a broken communication system. Once again, we receive another text message from Lizzy checking in but I'm sure she lost her phone or the battery died because we didn't hear back (red flag #5). In checking with the front desk they stated no manager was on site, that they were gone for the day, it was mid day (red flag #6...there were a lot of red flags!). The staff we did speak with at the front desk were very polite although restrained from helping beyond handing us towels. Now, this particular bungalow was spacious, as in large, and empty, zero warmth - just odd. Bedspread cover torn, hair/fur on the bed, very limited ratty towels, walls that needed a coat of paint or just a full coat of paint, etc.. and right now you're thinking why did they stay (?) because it was late and finding another hotel probably would have been worse...we think. At the end of our stay we did decide sleeping in the truck might have been a better option. The exterior of the hotel is worn, pathways and stairs haven't seen a power wash in who knows how long, bags of large trash sitting around an over flowing trash can for the couple of days we were there. One can only blame Covid so much, this is not a Covid issue this is a lack of attention to what could be a beautiful property, the pictures on the website ...VERY OLD. Just because pools aren't allowed to be open shouldn't mean you ignore them OR if you do, due to lack of funds block them from the public eye as people have to walk past them to get to the office or restaurant. Weeds everywhere, and that view of the river, more like a view of the electric tower, unmaintained old equipment and if you look hard enough you can see the river with houses backed up to it. Complete Bait and Switch and we've yet to hear back from Lizzy, she most likely did loose her phone and text messages hence why she never responded. Although I'm sure she is a very nice person doing the best she can at what is a very difficult job and zero corporate support. Now let me say the restaurant is very good with an amazing staff...they do have the correct hours of operation on the door.
