  We Just Love It

  Recently returned from another stay at this lovely hotel. A place with character in a beautiful setting. Great place to stay in peaceful countryside with lovely riverside walks and waterfalls. Just relax! Good food with plenty of choice. Well looked after by great people who cant do enough for you. Are we going again? Already booked up to go back in March. Cant wait!

  Christmas below zero

  We arrived at the hotel on a David Urquhart 5 day Christmas break, once checked in we went to our room 109 on the first floor it was absolutely freezing after we complained to reception we were given an electric blow heater for safety reasons we could only use this when we were in the room therefore room was still really cold. All communal areas in the hotel were very cold as well. Meals in hotel good staff very attentive evening entertainment not at all entertaining needless to say wont be visiting this hotel again. Had quite a few issues on journey home with the bus faulty water pump then door that wouldnt close properly as this was the first holiday with Urquhart it is definitely the last, had another one booked in March but after this experience weve decided to cancel. And believe it or not Urquhart said they wont pay us our deposit obviously they need it more that we do

  Good value.

  Spent 5 days here on a David Urquart tour, very good value for money, hotel is a bit dated but very clean, rooms were warm, plenty of hot water, good choice of food and very quickly served, staff were friendly and very helpful, will definately go back.

  Needs upgrade

  Booked 3 nights stay at this hotel in February 2020 (with Urquhart Travel) before the cold weather set in. No central heating. Had a sixties style twin room with single supplement. Small electric panel heater on wall. Room had 3 old single glazed windows. Noisy traffic started at 5am. Bathroom had no heat at all. Food was ok and staff pleasant. Not to be recommended for a winter stay. Needs complete upgrading.

  Dont write crap about this lovely amazing Hotel! Maybe needing updating but so do we all! Lovely place and staff are amazing! I love it. How you guys bear winter? Gemma is amazing. Fresh laid Hen and Goose eggs. Breakfast amazing! Will be back. Staff are amazing. Place clean . Loved it
