  best place in town

  I tried the "best place in town" after 2 times staying in a smal guesthouse. Good decision. Room was nice and parking inside the Hotel area (not on the street). Employees very friendly. Breakfast was good. I liked the faces on the boiled eggs. Will stay again if I have to come back.

  Very good, but forget wifi at room.

  Well, location is ice, parking possibility is great. Breakfast is superb, feeling of the restaurant is excellent. We had a dinner too, it was tasty.( i miss english menu card...) Well, beds are too soft to me,not so omfy. And i really miss wifi at room 505; however the hotel offered, but it doesnt works. So this is not correct.

  Good value in central location in both town and region

  If you are visiting this corner of Saxony, this small-town hotel is a good base. We booked there because of genealogical interests, but found it was perfect for day trips to Wittenberg and Dresden. Hotel itself stretches across two buildings; parking behind is secure, but unfortunately was completely filled by DB trucks one night which meant we parked on the street--not a big problem as this place becomes VERY quiet after about 8 PM. Room was a bit cramped, lighting not super and WiFi did not work there. A nice balcony overlooking the parking lot and back yards provided a fine place to receive Internet service, however. WiFi is also strong in the restaurant. Staff members were friendly and service-oriented. Guests with no German may be pressed a bit. Cuisine at both breakfast and dinner was excellent. The latter was surprisingly upscale; we complimented the chef. Decent value for the price, and watching the world go by on the square of this charming little Saxon town is added benefit. Town Information Office is just steps from the hotel. And if you have time, visit the ice cream shop across the square or the town's historical and scales museums!

  Gasthaus with nice old charm

  well, we had some problem to find the small streets to the marketplace . so we asked a taxi to show the way and that was free. the gasthaus , the cathedral, a lot of shops in old stile surround the old marketplace. very beautiful. we stayed here for two days and liked it very much. the restaurant is good and local people come here to eat and drink.

  Very nice guesthouse!

  We had 3 nights here recently and were very pleased. The central location in the town square is excellent. The room was spacious and well heated, the beds were comfortable and the en-suite facilities good. Breakfast was nice and the reception service very helpful! It was a little further to walk to the railway station than we had expected but for 7 a taxi was good value. Oschatz has a few nice cafes and shops and is well worth a look around.
