  Needs a little work

  This hotel we found and booked because it was a Sunday and we were having trouble locating one that was both open and near the train station. The hotel from the exterior appears quite nice and well maintained. However, the interior common areas were quite dated. Carpeting was quite old and worn. Wall hangings were basically all the same and not very interesting. There was also a definite lingering cigarette smell. Although the rooms may be non-smoking, I think smoking is permitted in the restaurant/bar part of the hotel. This property was not a terrible place to stay. It met our needs for the one night. I will say we had a nice view of the Alps from our room, which seemed fine in all respects.

  Great location, excellent breakfast

  Stopped over on our way to Switzerland, it was recommeded by a Gasthof in Klösterle that was full. Bludenz has a very picturesque centre and this hotel is right there. Very friendly staff, the room was nicely appointed for an older place, good mattress, good size flatscreen TV, free WiFi, good bathroom. But the breakfast buffet was more than expected. A generous selection of cereals, yogurt, jams, juices, cold cuts, including Speck, paté, cheeses, tomatoes, and the best buffalo mozzarello outside Italy. Outstanding! Everything was exceptional quality. Can recommend this hotel.

  better than one would expect

  The hotel is centrally located and has prking places just infront of the house. The place is rather worn and therefore our expectations entering our room were not that high. The room was, however, a positive surprise. Even though the room and bath room were rather small, they had recently been refurnished, everything was very clean and and the bed comfortable - what more can one wait for with the reasonable pricing.

  A gasthof - better than most

  If you are booking a room for less than $100/night, you should not expect much. This place is actually a pleasant surprise: Recently renovated rooms, right in the middle of town (and the town ain't much), and it comes with the mother of all Breakfasts! And the host is really serious about making guests happy !

  Bludenz forever in my heart

  We spent only 1 night in Bludenz while travelling through Europe. I remember it to be so quaint and pretty. It was in November and the children were carrying lanterns to light their way. Nestled in a valley in the mountains, it was heaven on earth.
