  Maintenance needed

  First the positives - the front desk staff is very efficient, professional and friendly. The room interior was clean. The location of Northwoods is very convenient to the shops on the main street. Unfortunately, due to Covid, there wasn't any maid service available and we had to go down to the front desk for fresh towels, more coffee and extra cups. The restaurant was also closed and, since the majority of restaurants were open, the fact that our hotel had closed theirs was particularly off putting. We have often eaten here in the past and it was one of the deciding factors to book our room here as opposed to other properties. The hotel is also suffering from a lack of exterior maintenance. I have attached pictures to show the needed painting and the sad ceiling fan in the lobby. We found the guest room bathroom very small compared to High Peaks Resort and the Crown Plaza. It would also be nice if a TV was located outside the bedroom. My husband often wakes up much earlier than I do and he enjoys being able to watch the news without disturbing me. I suppose we will pay a little more and go back to one of those previously visited hotels on our next trip.

  Disgusting Dive Advertised As A Boutique Hotel

  Front desk staff was kind, courteous and helpful. They helped me find a parking spot. Unfortunately it was right next to restaurant dumpster and disposal area. It was unsightly and smelled terrible. The carpet in the room was stained. The windows were dirty with cobwebs with a few dead bugs in them. Some of the furniture was scratched, dented, faded and old. The balcony floor did not feel sturdy and the outdoor carpet was covered with dog hair. In the corner there were wires/cables haphazardly running up the wall in plain sight. The tree right next to and within reach of the balcony had a cigarette butt and a few beer cans in it. Over $300 for one night in one of the top 3 worst hotel/motel rooms I have ever stayed in. The rest of the facility was tired, dated and old. Dont stay at this hotel, its gross.

  Great location, family friendly, incredible value!

  Great family hotel, conveniently located, great value - we were on the 5th floor, with views of mirror lake. The rooms were updated and the beds were so comfortable, the fridge was small, but microwave and coffee maker was great. Due to covid masks are required everywhere in the hotel, but NO housekeeping services, which was the only downside about our 5 day stay. The hotel staff was very helpful with any issues and requests - really sweet and treated my kids very nicely!

  Great location at a good price!

  The location cannot be beat! Located right on Main Street, the hotel is a few steps away from Mirror Lake, the Olympic Museum, restaurants, and shops! The hotel feels a bit dated, but is clean and comfortable. The room was large with a small porch and mini fridge. Parking is available on the hotel grounds. Finally the staff was very friendly. Sean was especially helpful. This hotel serves as a great base in Lake Placid at a reasonable price point.

  One night in Lake Placid

  The hotel is past it's prime but they do try. Walls are very thin. Had the opportunity to listen to the adjoining rooms playlist until 2:30 AM. Bed was comfortable, staff was very helpful. Ideal location to explore old Lake Placid. Parking lot is small and outback. They followed Covid protocol.
