    Nice stay

We stayed overnight for my daughter's birthday and had a really nice time. We come to GWL at least once a year, and this experience was a little different due to Covid, but it was still fun. Only one person can check the whole party in, events are socially distanced, and masks are required in the public areas. Our room and the waterpark were very clean.

    Rundown & Overpriced

This would be an ok place to go for their weekday or off peak prices but there is NO WAY we would ever pay the $600+ a night they're asking for over the weekends. We stayed 2 nights and parts of 3 days. The hotel is in need of major maintenance when you look past the fuzzy creatures and water. Our room had 1/2 roll of toilet paper upon arrival no extra (had to ask 2x before we got more), hair dryer fell off the wall when I attempted to use it, sheets for the bunk beds were too big therefore creating a frustrating situation for kids when they moved around and for parents trying to continue to fix them. The food is WAY overpriced. The best meal we had there was the pizza (which was decent) and the PB&J sandwiches we made in our room. The staff was really hit or miss. You'd run into someone that looked like they hated every minute of their job. Then you'd have someone who was overfriendly and almost make up for the previous employee. My oldest son, 11, mentioned one of the lifeguards had been rude to him after being splash while he was returning a tube. My personal opinion is they need to overhaul the whole hotel, complete staff training and reevaluate food prices before they could ever justify charging the nightly prices they do. Overall my children had a great time and that's what the visit was about. But I am just thankful we paid weekday prices. We actually felt bad for the people checking in for the weekend knowing what they forked over for their stay.

Will change the price after booking

I booked 2 nights through the website for a total price of $565.31. I called into confirm a promo code and some other info. I then clicked to submit my booking. The confirmation email I received said the new total price was $670.72. I called into ask why. He apologized and asked if I could send in a screen shot of the price. I actually did have such proof and sent it in. He said I would hear back via email. After a week I called into check the status. The gentlemen said he would have someone reach out to me that day either through email or call. I verified all my contact information with him. I never heard anything back. I called in the following day and after being transferred to a manager, I was told the screen shot I took didn't have the location and there was nothing they could do for me.

    Great time at Great Wolf

I dont usually leave reviews but during the time of COVID I thought it important to share our experience with Great Wolf. It had been 7 years since wed been here and in that time they have made several noticeable improvements. First, our room (first floor Wolf Den) was freshly remodeled and the cleanest of any hotel room I think I have ever stayed in and I have traveled a lot. Not a single errant hair (you know what Im talking about), no dust to be seen and no mold anywhere. Even the carpet didnt feel skeezy. The only complaint we had with the room were the bunk bed mattresses and blankets. Both were thin and with it being in the single digits outside my kids complained about being cold. But the heat was ample and my husband and I were comfortable. Even our mattress was fairly comfortable (shocking). The water park was nice and clean. At times it felt a little crowded but we were able to stay fairly distanced from people. There were hand sanitizing stations everywhere. The food at the snack bar inside the water park was good and I love that we could swipe wrist bands for everything. I dont remember if that was there the last time, but it was super convenient. The staff was great and they were very prompt with bringing clean towels. Overall we had a great time and highly recommend.

    Great visit during COVID!

We had a great visit during COVID over President's Day weekend. The staff was awesome and accommodating. The hotel guests did a good job of wearing masks and distancing in common areas. 1. There was no daily housekeeping due to COVID but the front desk was very responsive to housekeeping needs communicated via the hotel app. We got our items dropped off in a bag on our door handle- no contact. 2. You do not have to wear masks in the water park. The chairs are set up in a socially distant way with signs not to move them. 3. The staff went above and beyond- replacing our microwave when we burned popcorn and jump starting our car when it didn't start due to sub zero temps. The staff in all the shops were fantastic, even remembering us when we came back multiple times. You can tell they love to interact with kids and went out of their way to be friendly and make conversation. 4. We stayed in a wolf den suite on the main floor. It was nice because it was on the same level as the waterpark and we didn't have to use the elevator. The parking was easy. The kids loved the wolf den with a bunk bed and a little twin bed in one room. The full bed in the main room was comfy and we had plenty of space for our family of 5. We loved the mini kitchen and especially the gas fireplace! It really helped keep our room warm during the cold freeze we were there. 5. This is a great location right off the highway and it was an easy drive downtown to some of KC's nice family attractions: Science City, Legoland, Aquarium, etc. It would be just as easy to stay holed up in the hotel! 6. A few tips: - bring a large bag for your water park things as you can check in early and check out late and use the waterpark in the meantime. You won't want to bring your whole luggage cart in there with you! -bring flip flops or water shoes to get from the waterpark to your room, it is a big resort! -the Wolf pass is worth the money: my kids did everything on it and thought it was fun to check off all the activities. We got a $7 credit in the gift shop for not being able to mini golf due to the sub zero temps (the mini golf is outdoors) - We did not eat on site as we brought our own breakfast and snacks in the evening. We ate lunch while we were out during our adventures during the day. However, we did LOVE the coffee shop on site with Starbucks coffee and speciality drinks!
