Fabulous relaxing stayOnly stayed for 1 night but felt so relaxed that we felt we had been there for ages. Bedding so comfy we slept so well, food wonderful. Love this place! Have stayed here on many occasions over the years, and the owners have carefully kept the decor up to date, changing the interior design regularly whilst retaining the historical and unique feeling of the place.

Stunning stay with fantastic views across the Preseli mountainsWe stayed in the Preseli loft which was detached from the main building. We had a fantastic quiet stay. The restaurant is worth a mention as the evening meal we had was delicious. We chilled out with a cocktail afterwards in one of the many cosy areas of the hotel in front of a fire. Worth having a walk around the grounds during the day and soaking up those awesome views.

Simply superbWe live only half an hour away and have enjoyed some wonderful meals at the Grove but after another lockdown we wanted something near home to celebrate our wedding anniversary of quite a few years. As a very special treat we decided to book two nights in the Sage Cottage Garden Suite; it was an absolute delight and everything was even better than we might have expected. So many treats, and even the dogs were catered for with their own beds and hampers each side of a blazing log burner. The bed and bedding was like sleeping on a cloud, and the bath and shower fabulous. The meals in the Artisan Rooms were faultless, the service efficient and pleasant, and careful attention given to Covid regulations without making us feel uneasy. We didn't need to go anywhere much but enjoyed a trip to Narberth with its delightful shops, and there was plenty of choice for dog walking. We could not have imagined that even before the evening meal on the second night, the news emerged that lockdown was being re-imposed - after just 2 nights. Our hearts went out to the team who were preparing for visitors through to New Year. It is hard to imagine the upheaval. Thankyou so much Thomas and all the team for such a special time, which in the event proved to be our "Christmas celebration" but gave us such a wonderful time of relaxation and happy memories. We do hope that you can re open at the earliest opportunity.

Short Walking TripIt was an experience to stay here in such a beautiful part of Wales and I would recommend anyone to do it once. But for me it definitely was only once. I have to admit I did not see the place in the best of circumstances given the covid restrictions in force at the time. Nevertheless I did have a great time whilst there. We had a fantastic quiet room - Thyme - on the ground floor in Herb Cottage and away from the main hotel building. It even had its own garden. It was easily accessible which suited us fine as we came for a walking holiday and it was easy to get our muddy boots off on the return from our walks. We stayed on half-board and enjoyed both food and drink. The service was excellent and attentive. However it was nothing ultra- special for the prices being charged. The hotel grounds were scenic and extensive and well maintained with views towards the Presli Hills and I enjoyed wandering round the large kitchen garden which provides a source of food for the hotel. However I came away from my stay thinking there was definitely a wow factor missing for the prices being charged and I could have stayed somewhere else for a lower price and yet received the same excellent standards of service.

The wonderful people at the Grove made the impossible, possible and more!A wedding in a pandemic in the hotel of our dreams? Surely not! Lock-down in Wales had hit and changed the face of hospitality. The Grove was forced to close. Horrendous for so many, but for us this was devastation. We are not the youngest and had, against all odds, finally arranged to tie the knot. We had planned everything with Leonie, been for our superb tasting and then the bottom fell out of our world. But soon our tears of sadness were turned to tears of joy by these wonderful people. Thomas called to say that despite the closure the hotel would open for us for our wedding breakfast and to spend the night. They followed the covid rules to the letter but still provided a wonderful and unforgettable day for us. The Sunday Times Hotel of the Year 2020. The decor is exquisite, the food exceptional and the setting amazing. For a Christmas wedding the decorations and log burning fires made for a magical atmosphere. The attention to detail was impeccable and the service outstanding! Our unique Daniel and Elizabeth suite was so romantic with hand carved love spoons filling one wall beyond the four poster bed. The next day the hotel opened to other guests so we were able to have a second night! Unfortunately a tougher lock-down was announced and the hotel had to close once more. However, we have already booked for our first anniversary stay. We were truly the luckiest and happiest couple in Pembrokeshire and cannot thank the owners and staff of The Grove enough!
