  good stay in qinhuangdao

  i really liked that place very much....the room was really spacious and the staff very friendly. they do not really speak english there, but they try their really best. brakfast is good if you can live with chinese breakfast and consider instant coffee as exceptable when comming to this comparatively rural place on the way to chinas northeast. Foreign visitors are okay with the hotel (yes, some hotels in the neighboorhood do have no permission to house foreigners haha)

  The location is relatively central, the staff is totally friendly and the rooms large. But in general the hotel felt a bit run-down and the room was not particularly clean. I didn't try the breakfast so I cannot comment on that. For that price I would have expected a bit higher quality.

  Excellent stay

  We arrived from Qinhuangdao train station, where I had left my wallet on the train which was heading to north China! Obviously I was worrying but the staff couldn't do enough for me, they rung up the train company and managed to get my wallet back! (this was after I used my translation app on my phone) and this was before we even checked in and handed any money over as well. When I came back (wallet in hand), we checked in and headed to our room, the room was really nice, nice features, clean and everything you needed. The shower was the only thing that let the room down, the water collected at the bottom of the basin and doesn't drain away for a while, other than that the room was perfect. The breakfast was really nice, enough food and drink to satisfy anyone and the staff were helpful (when the language barrier didn't get in the way that is). The location is in the centre of the city so everything you need is in this area, shopping malls, restaurants etc. If you are looking to visit the Great Wall, the beach or Dragons Head I would advise staying a little closer (in Shanhaiguan for example), if not its about a 45 min bus journey or a taxi journey (60-80 yuan each way, depending on location in Shanhaiguan).
