  Great Spot!

  Ive been to Koh Phangan a few times over the years, and Ive found I love Ban Tai/Ban Kai as its right in the middle of the bottom of the island between Thong Sala and Haad Rin. Right off the main road, most of the islands highlights are easily accessible but youre away from the chaos a bit. HANSA is a lovely little gem of a resort - small, only maybe 10 bungalows, but very nice bungalows and the resort itself is wonderful. The common area is super chill, literally right on the water, with a little pool for cooling off. The guys (Ang and Nien) are both great. If youre looking for a more relaxing Koh Phangan experience, with slightly more upscale bungalows and less of a party crowd, this is the spot to be. Plus, as I mentioned, its only a short motorbike/taxi to all the parties if you want to join in!

  Resort? More like last resort.

  Avoid like the plague. The bungalows there were very run down and did not keep the bugs out at all. The water AND electricity would shutoff frequently. The hot water heater for the shower was broken and we had to have the staff come fix it at least three different times. The air conditioning wouldnt even keep the room cool because the bungalow was so open in between the grass roof and the tops of the walls. If you like tiny little ants constantly crawling all over the bathroom and insects in and on the bed this is the place for you! The free breakfast was nice and the staff at the restaurant were very nice BUT I would never, ever, go back.

  Disgusting.

  Hansa resort has great potential, but it urgently needs some serious refurbishment!!! - Appartments: the whole home is full of animals. Insects, ants and geckos. Unfortunately, these animals also leave their excrements. We had it everywhere, even in the bed. Thats disgusting. Based on these circumstances we didnt really sleep well.. you never know if something unforeseen in your mouth while sleeping. - Restaurant: this was really nice. With the friendliest waiter ever. We dont know his name, we only know that he is from Malaysia, he made up for a lot. The food is also tasty and you really have to try the passionfruit daiquiri! - Location: beautiful!!! Because of the bad conditions of the apparmtent, we really cant give a better rating here. Kevin & Lisa, Austria

  BE AWARE OF BOOKING IN ADVANCE!

  Be aware of their booking system! Booked a beachfront bungalow, and wished for a large bed. Through Agoda (which in this case did nothing wrong) 2 days later got email from the hotel that they cannot help me with the request. It's was just pure hunch that I asked in the email about .. cannot get me a large bed or the booking? (Which was already paid in full three nights). Luckily they also answered. Your room is full! I emailed back and said? But how could I book and pay in full? (The hotel's can always I'm real-time see the bookings) Then they said we have other rooms, and gave me examples I could not even see on agodas site. So I wrote back to confirm maybe they meant for "eg seafront bungalows"? Got a reply.. "Sorry we are all fully booked in all rooms for these dates". People walk in and book. So that means the hotel cannot be trusted to keep your name and priorities your booking even as I paid 4000+ bath. They let other rooms go even before I could answer, and that was fast. Agoda costumer service was very helpful to get me a refund but lost certainly have to wait 15-30 days for credit return. We even got the number to the owner who promised yesterday to get back to us but never did. So please be advised to be very careful if you have plans and triple check your booking with this resort! I usually never wrote these kind of reviews. My first visit in KOH Phangan and after living years in Thailand was1998 and never had these problems before. REMEMBER! If I hadn't asked if it was only a "large bed" or "the room" itself they could not give me? I've probably stand outside there hotel tomorrow where no room at all.

  Very bad! Not Recommend!!

  We were there for 4 nights. We had a very terrible experience and did not enjoy the hotel at all! We had no room service and no new towels or sheets, the room was full of sand every day and we didn't get any service! The pool in the pictures looks blue but it is green at all and doesn't look good for bathing !!! We were really disapointed. We paid almost 7800 baht for four nights while our friends paid 1000 baht a night. The electricity went up and down every time and we had no good lighting in the room nor did we have air conditioner. A window could not be opened because it was full of frogs and lizards and geckos outside at night. Was very nasty. The shower was not good at all there was no hot water or every time the water changed during the shower.
