  Pleasant 1 night stay

  Booked for 1 night on way to holiday in Cornwall. Very easy to find, just off motorway. Check in easy, covid-19 measures in place and easy to follow. Our room was exactly as requested, ground floor for easy access. Comfortable beds, although Pillows a little firm and only 1 each. Breakfast was rather limited due to social distancing etc rules. The continental options pretty much as usual, the cooked choice was limited to either a bacon roll or a veggie sausage roll. We opened for continental, which was plentiful and tasty. Excellent place for a quick stop over on the way to south west.

  Covid safe

  Stayed here for one night. Nice welcome, good room with responsive air con/ heating. All Covid procedures were in place and strictly adhered to by staff. Breakfast was grab a bag for your room but well organised. Staff were pleasant and efficient throughout. Would certainly stay again. Plentiful parking.

  Acceptable value for money. Brilliant breakfast, but rooms are long overdue for a deep clean.

  My husband I and stayed here for 3 nights with our dog. We stayed in room 017 on the ground floor, which is a dog friendly room. We paid £126 total (plus £20 change per dog per trip), so it was just under £50 per night with our dog. It was booked only about 1 week before the mid-week trip. Pros - The breakfast was amazing value for money The options were potentially a little different because of covid, but you could help yourself to as much of the following as you liked: bacon rolls, sausages rolls, cereal, fruit, yoghurts, croissants, orange juice, coffee, tea There was also options to take your breakfast back to your room to eat - Acceptable value for money at £50 per night with a dog (as long as the below points wouldnt bother you too much) Cons - General cleanliness of the room The room was really overdue for a deep clean Although it was a dog friendly room, I dont expect the carpet to be covered in dog hair, especially when you pay £20 for a dog to stay The toilet section of the bathroom had quite a strong smell of urine. I cleaned the bathroom with dettol when we got there, due to covid, but it didnt help. We had to keep the bathroom door shut at all times. The shower had quite a lot of mould in it. Overall, the whole room just needed a really good scrub and a thorough hoover - Room amenities The bed was very uncomfortable for me (my husband thought it was ok) The pillows were hard and very, very high. I requested a flatter one, but it was only marginally better. My husband and I ended up buying our own pillows to use for the remainder of our trip. The mattress was quite hard and the duvet cover was crinkly - like sleeping under a crisp packet. The room was dark. Far too dark to get ready in. The main bedroom light was on the ceiling, but in the corner of the room. There was also a desk light, a light on the wall by the door, plus a bedside light on each side, but they all added up to less usable light than a decent, normal roof light would have. Overall, I likely wouldnt stay here again, as I didnt sleep well at all for 3 nights. The cleanliness also just wasnt where Id expect even a 1 star hotel to be; even in a dog friendly room. The value for money was ok, but Id still expect a clean, nice smelling room for any price.

  Excellent Hotel

  Excellent value for money with a substantial free buffet breakfast. Very clean with well trained polite staff. Sanitisation very good and bar open. Social distancing practice good. Free good parking and a restautant bar 100 metres away

  Great value hotel

  We stayed here overnight to break up the journey and really pleased with our choice. Staff were really polite and helpful. Their Covid arrangements are really impressive. Room had everything we needed and supplied a travel cot. We had dinner at the hotel. It wasnt ground breaking with limited choice but filled a hole. Service was really slow in bringing food out but put this down to the COVID effect. Breakfast was grab and go which was great. I picked up everything and took back to our room. Great choice hot and cold. Would definitely stay again!!
