Excellent stay
We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights on a weekend trip from the UK. From start to finish the staff were excellent in their friendly and attentive manner and made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was exceptionally good for a budget (albeit superior) hotel, one of the best buffet style breakfasts we have had anywhere. In terms of value for money, quality of staff, hotel amenities, breakfast, plus friendly and efficient service, I would highly recommend this hotel. Well done to all of the staff for running such a customer focused operation, particularly Eeva, Rehal and Issi, who all provided great service.

Convenient business hotel
My room was absolutely clean, well equipped, everything looked new. Comfortable and large bathroom with appropriate storage space. Easy to find and reach during the daytime or by taxi, but a bit more difficult from a night bus or tram. The metro station is just across the street but it closes at 11pm. Both check in and out was very quick and easy, the staff was friendly. Rich and tasty breakfast is worth the price and is served in an interesting and comfortable environment.

Good stay away at a typical Holiday Inn.
Typical good service from a Holiday Inn: check-in fantastic, all information provided, nice room with both Euro and USB power points not only on the desk but against the bedside and a nice view out over the Seurasaari bay. This particular Holiday Inn use a keycard to activate not just room power but also the lifts. I ate in the restaurant that evening. The meal (a Caesar salad minus the Caesar dressing) wasn't bad, a bit dry, but there were a noticeable absence of waitresses patrolling the restaurant. I ate out other evenings after that.

Very good breakfast with pancakes
Due to my work I already have stayed in Holiday Inn Helsinki West Ruoholahti twice in January and I will stay here regularly in the coming months. The location isn't very central but it is only 500 meters to Ruoholahti Metro Station (the subway) and 600 meters to the beautiful Ruoholahti Canal pedestrian zone (read separate TripAdvisor reviews). The small Ruoholahti Shopping Centre (Ruoholahden Kauppakeskus) is situated next to the hotel. The surrounding area isn't very beautiful. Rooms are partly renovated. Beds are very comfort. Soundproof windows are good. I heard only quiet traffic noise and my sleep quality was very good. The heating and air-conditioning system is self-adjustable. It is quite OK but not very effective. Bathrooms look quite old but they are very functional. It is easy to take a shower without watering the whole bathroom. I have stayed in standard rooms and I don't know if they have any better rooms. It is quite odd that the phone number of the reception is different in safety precautions (131 on the cardboard label in the room) and in the emergency exit evacuation plan (101 on the door). The lobby and the renovated restaurant are extremely cozy with many interesting details. The restaurant serves as a breakfast room, too. Their buffet breakfast is very good. It even includes ready-made pancakes. Earlier they had a pancake machine but it was quite slow. So this system is much better. Service at the breakfast is extremely kind. The restaurant also has a take-in service. That means that you can choose from the menu in your room and ring them to place your order. When your meal is ready, they will give you a call. It is free to collect your portion from To Go Café in the lobby. If you want traditional room-service, they take 10 euros more. Soup of the day, sandwich of the day and salad of the day are available 24/7. Restaurant opening hours are very limited. Snacks are available 24/7 from To Go Café. They have a sauna and a mini-gym in the hotel. Actually the gym or the fitness room is extremely good although they say that it is a mini-gym. The parking hall with wide places for cars is very good, too. They even have places for cars of disabled people in the parking hall. Service is always very kind both in check-in and check-out. So I can say that this a quite nice hotel for business trips.

Very Helpful
Modern Hotel with friendly super helpful staff. They assisted me with all my requests and even helped me find and retrieve my cell phone from the taxi I had left it in. I was also referred to an amazing local suite of doctors as I was feeling under the weather. Just a special note of thanks for all the help even though my stay was short and sweet. Its a must stay if you are in Helsinki as its close to all amenities esp. the metro to.
