  impressed !!

  My husband and I stayed for two nights last weekend for a classic car rally event. Our room was very clean and comfortable, food good but what impressed us the most were the staff!! Nothing was too much trouble. Helpful and all very friendly despite social distancing, the wearing of masks and being rushed off their feet as the hotel was very busy due to the event!! The manager of the restaurant or was he the general manager(?) seemed to live at the hotel, he was there all the time, leading by example and wiping down tables with the rest of his staff! The quality of service in this hotel is very rare these days so my husband and I really appreciated it and want to acknowledge it!

  Overall...excellent

  Spotless. Spacious and has all you need. Plenty of parking and facilities. I had room 30 from tue till thurs, oct 13,14 15. Staff were amazing and friendly. Two in particular. Lady behind the main counter (in red, with glasses) at reception helped me get my head around the food ordering on arrival. And one of the girls at the bar/food area (glasses, dark ponytail) very courteous and genuinely friendly. Food and drink are basic at the moment and expensive for what is on offer. Over a fiver for a pint. BUT... as simple and expensive as it was? It was delicious and cooked perfectly. Goose head beer is super tasty. The cooked breakfast in the morning was as good as anywhere and highly recommended. I travelled alone on this occasion and thoroughly enjoyed my short stay. The bed IS HUGE and the rooms have everything you need. Much much better than the table table hotels by far. Thank you all for your hospitality and service. 10/10

  Excellent hotel

  We stayed for one night at Holiday Inn in Taunton, checkin was very easy. Hotel is situated by the M5 Round about and about 45 minutes walk away to the city centre. Very impressed with the cleanliness and freshly renovated hotel. I was particularly impressed with the shower which is fantastic and good water pressure. Very quiet and I slept well, given that the hotel is next to a very busy motorway. Excellent wifi connection and good size TV- everything that I needed for my comfort was there. Breakfast was exemplary- Covid19 proof. Cold breakfast was in individual package, e.g cute little individual milk, cereals, fruit juices etc and hot full english breakfast was served at the table- It was very innovative way of serving breakfast and I will give them a 100%. Highly recommended to family and friends

  Disappointing

  So many things in one stay. Firstly. I booked half board. I thought Id confirm that at check in. Confirmed half board but told only breakfast. When I challenged then oh yes its a meal as well. Asked if I can book room service. Yes. Use the code in the room on your phone. Worked really well. Food turned up and its in boxes with one set of plastic cutlery. Now I know were in a pandemic but this was really poor. Next. The toilet doesnt always reset so just keeps filling. Next. The walls are paper thin. Its 1am and all I can hear is the excited chat from the room next door. Overall not what I expect for over £100 a night.

  Very good hotel

  I stayed in this hotel for 1 night for work, plenty of parking which is always a plus, inside it looked dated but in a good way looked clean and had a nice feel, receptionist was very helpful and pleasant, went to my room but the key card didn't work so went back to reception and in a matter of secs the receptionist fixed it, room was very clean and was very comfortable, food was room service and limited menu which during Covid it's understandable, I had a pizza which was very nice, breakfast was order the day before and grab it in reception next day type thing came in a little box in a bag - was pretty nice aswell handy if your running late you can eat it on the go - I'll definitely stay again if I'm in the area
