  Awesome Staff, horrible facilities!

  Booked a stay at the Holiday Inn VA Beach - Norfolk and originally planned to stay for about 3 weeks. Probably one of the worst places Ive ever stayed at. The entire facility was well-aged as can be seen with the walls, floors, and fixtures. The hallways and the room had a certain muggy smell which was most likely from the old carpet thats been well over due for a change. More over, the high speed internet averaged at about 2 mbps on WI-FI and about 3-4 mbps on the ethernet. I will say this, the staff was phenomenal and were quite helpful and professional. The cleaning crew were very polite and would never fail to acknowledge the guests with a smile and a greeting in the halls. The bar personnel were very helpful and offered to lend me dishes and cutlery when I was looking for mere disposables. Makayla and Kirby were hands down the best front desk staff that Ive ever encountered. As I mentioned earlier, My original booking was for more than 3 weeks but decided to cancel and move across the street to the Courtyard by Marriott on just the second day of my stay. Regardless of the situation, both Makayla and Kirby assisted me and made my transition effortless. Even giving me enough time to pack up my things for the move. Overall, I feel that the only saving grace of this hotel is the staff. I definitely do not recommend this place!

  Nice Hotel Poor Internet No Points

  IHG is so stingy with their points it sucks. Just because we are CLC doesn't mean we don't deserve our points. I'm also a vet and a senior. The double rooms have no desk for business and unless you have a drop cord you aren't likely to be able to plug everything up. The sinks in every room are so shallow it's pathetic. Rooms with just a shower have terrible water pressure. The halls are very long and no one tells you a closer entrance for those like myself with breathing issues. Staff has been very nice and beds are comfortable but outside of that I have nothing good to say. Get a clue IHG!

  This Holiday Inn has to be the dirtiest Holiday Inn in the country. The bathrooms were old and abused, my toilet got clogged one time. The carpet in my room was sticky and the furniture in the room was so worn it was bent. When I checked in the hotel my a/c unit was so dirty I was going to over look it, but I ended up calling them to clean it out. At night one time there was loud music in the parking lot more than one, for which I had to call them, people running in the hall way, the elevators broke a few times. The lobby had me fooled! This was a mess! Id would not recommend this hotel. Might as well spend the night in a tent and save the money.

  Kirby was awesome. Hotel was very nice. Minus the vandals that went through the parking lot and spray painted my car, it went flawlessly and without a hitch. Only thing I wish wouldve happened was that the hotel had some sort of response to the vandals even though they werent responsible. Free meal, something! Other than that they were great.

  Outstanding Customer Service

  Despite it being the year of Covid, the Holiday Inn still has amazing service and hospitality towards the one that decide to stay with them. Upon arrival they are extremely welcoming and informative about the ROM period and not to mention the place that you can go to get necessities.
