  Mixed review

  I have to say this hotel took covid seriously and i did feel safe staying here. The digital key was a nice touch so you could use your phone to unlock doors. Our first night around 10:30pm is when the trouble began. All of a sudden we smell smoke. Not cigarette smoke but the overwhelming smell of pot. We were on the 3rd floor and called down to desk. By this time it was 11pm and they said the whole hotel is nonsmoking and we could move rooms. So we did at 11pm. We moved up to 7th floor and problem was solved. Just be warned stay on an upper floor. We spoke to manager next morning but were offered only a sorry this is a problem we think with vaping and no offer of compensation otherwise. Covid breakfast is a very sad affair. We called it our sadness breakfast and the next day went to chickfila that was walking distance. The staff are all very nice but after our room fiasco i would have liked more than sorry.

  Not what it used to be

  This used to be the best place to stay in the UAB area & they still have much potential & very valuable employees. However, they are getting too carried away with this Corona Business instead of just focusing on the good job they always did in past years & taking care of their customers, especially the very loyal ones. Especially regarding the evening dinner & the morning breakfast. Corona Business or no Corona Business, we still pay for the service we have come to expect. Never the less, I really think they are trying, but apparently walking both sides of the street. Let's get back to the way things were!

  Definitely don't stay here

  At 1st this was a good stay but things quickly went down Hill Upon checking in I use the new card that was issued to me And then a couple of hours later there was a fraudulent charge for baby clothes it's my suspicion that the front desk agent Angela Used my card so when you check in don't let them type in your number

  Best in Birmingham!!!

  Nicest people in Birmingham! Marcy met me at the front desk and she was kind and professional. The room was clean and nice. I will stay here on my next visit to B-ham! I woke up to a delicious sausage biscuit!

  Truly a five-star stay

  Room was huge, clean, in great condition, and so comfortable. Staff was extremely polite and answered all my questions, taking time to explain parking to me. From what we saw, everyone was taking reasonable coronavirus precautions. It's a "city" hotel and so there were folks there for events or nights out, and there was music and activity going on a Saturday night until after 12:30 a.m. Didn't bother us but some people may take issue with the noise. Breakfast was still available with modifications. Highly recommend this hotel!
