  You Can't Beat the Location

  This was the third, or fourth, time to stay here. We experienced the same level of service as before. Staff was very friendly and professional. Rooms and other hotel facilities were very clean and well-maintained. The only negative we found was that there was no hot breakfast service, at this hotel, due to COVID-19. While I understand that there is a need to maintain health guidleines, we have stayed at other Hilton properties in the same state, who have been able to provide some sort of hot breakfast, yet still adhere to health guidlines. I would recommend that this hotel do the same. As stated in the review title, the location is great. Numerous restaurants and a grocerty store ar within walking distance. Some great tourist attractions are, within only a very short drive

  A disappointing Homewood Suites

  Our first problem was during the check in process. Even though the reservation has been made for two weeks, we were told that they did not have the one bedroom suite that we reserved. When we told the clerk that a studio was not what we wanted, she finally checked on her computer and found us one. We went down the hall and just as we were about to use our key we noticed that the cleanliness sticker was gone, indicating the room was probably occupied. At that time she called out to us that she had given us the wrong room. After another 10 minutes we were given a one bedroom suite. I dont think the room had been vacuumed because there was a large hair tie, on the carpet by the bed. There was also some type of old stain on the mattress pad. On the second day, some type of live bug crawled across the sofa. We have stayed several times at Homewood Hotels since COVID restrictions started; however, at this hotel the bananas were way overripe, there was no orange juice (cranberry was offered) and only two kinds of small cereal boxes... both sugary!! The excuse given was that the truck had not come however this hotel is adjacent to a Publix store. It was only on our last day that they had decent bananas, but still no other choice of cereal. Also, I understand that pantry items are usually higher, but feel that $3.50 for a 20 oz. soda was a bit excessive! Our plans will bring us to Huntsville again, but we will not be staying at this hotel.

  Good Location, Average Hotel

  We recently stayed in a King Suite for two nights. We were traveling with our adult son who slept on the pull out couch in the room. It was nice to have that extra bed (and space) for him. The hotel is in a good location and only a few minute's drive to restaurants, breweries, and the like. Our room was fairly clean, although the carpet was a bit sad looking. One of the outlets in the kitchenette wasn't working, which made us think the toaster was broken. Once we realized the issue, we simply used an outlet that did work. We were on the top floor, and traffic noise wasn't terrible, but it was definitely noticeable. The noises that really bugged us was the refrigerator, and the leaky toilet that would randomly start filling every once in a while. Overall, the hotel was fine. Not great, but not terrible. My only real issue was with the apathetic employees running the front desk. Also, no one was cleaning the tables in the breakfast area after folks left. I think if there are guests in the lobby or breakfast area, the front desk person should be focused on them, not their phone.

  Christmas getaway

  This was our first time staying at this hotel. This is an exceptional hotel, with helpful staff and rooms that are just what you need for a stay of any length. We only stayed one night, but will definitely come back for an extended stay. Thank you for a great experience!

  Great Downtown Hotel... Almost

  This hotel has a great location with a friendly and welcoming staff. The room and bed were comfortable. Several places to eat are within walking distance as is a Publix supermarket. There is an adjacent parking garage that guests can use. This was especially nice given the inclement weather we experienced. The front desk needs to explain the rules of the parking garage. There are some slots for hotel guests, but most of the first floor parking is dedicated for Publix. The hotel shortcomings are paper thin walls and some maintenance and internet issues. This could have been a great hotel, but cost cutting leading to lack of sound insulation between rooms is a big problem. The hotel was full during our stay. One one side of us, you could hear normal conversation and snoring. But the worst were the guests on the other side. They threw a wild party that woke us up a little after 2:00 am which lasted almost an hour. The next night, loud music started at 1:15 am. I could not log on to the internet more than once. The front desk connected me to their third party contractor who had to manually connect me to the internet. As a Hilton Honors member, I do not understand why this is a regular problem. I have had this issue at other Hilton properties. The toilet leaked and flushed all during the night. We closed the bathroom door to muffle the noise. The hotel staff were great. The problems were not really their fault. "Bean counters" scrimped on construction and did not adequately insulate the rooms from extraneous sound. Given the price of the room, I expected better.
