  Excellent hotel and delicious restaurant

  Here ( sadly) for only one night, though happily to buy a lovely home in the neighbourhood of Duras and Eymet. This was a great one night stay. It felt as if we had been here a week. Because it was so relaxing. From the enjoyment of pre-dinner drinks on the charming terrace in the sunshine, the absolutely delicious dinner , and the incredibly soft and comfortable beds in chamber dix-neuf ( family suite ensuite all on its own across the little road - incredibly quiet, no traffic, no noise, secure little veranda area on which to take early morning coffee) this hotel ticked all the boxes for an incredibly savvy and picky 12 years old granddaughter through to our son and wife and my wife too. Just perfect! Incredibly charming location near to Duras Castle. If we move here this will become the go to local restaurant for us. Last nights meal: we enjoyed our choices of lobster or foie gras starters - both incredibly tasty - and then between us we all chose to dine on lamb or beef pave with roasted garlics, leeks, glazed carrots delicious potato and ( with the beef) a tasty rich concoction we still have not quite identified fully! Cheese board was sumptuous - terrific variety of delicious French cheeses. Desserts included local canelles served with a prune steeped in fine Armagnac (oh the flavour!) or various homemade tartlets. Coffee served in the little cloistered garden followed All washed down with a glass or two of local white wine Terrane and a bottle of local Duras red Bertimot (apologies for spelling) Super - lovely to find such a modest, family run yet excellent hotel and restaurant here. A real French find! Thank you !! ( encouraged us to take the leap and buy the house :) )

  Fine for one night

  Stayed here for one night. No big problems but the smallest room ever! The hotel certainly wasnt full so either they are all tiny or they could have given us a better one. Gardens and dinning room were attractive and there is a secure car park. There was also a problem with the door handle/ lock that should have been fixed. Other wise ok for a 3 star and reasonably friendly. The dinner in the restaurant was fine and service good but decided not to go back with friends the following week to eat. Not sure about the mop in the dinning room at breakfast!!

  GREAT VALUE

  We booked as a party of 10 people, no matter the size of your party, its never a problem for this establishment. The menu of the day just 15 euros was excellent value the goats cheese, presentation so unexpected but so tasty, the chicken with the mushrooms was excellent then the dessert of local strawberries so yummy. This is one restaurant not to miss, you will be sorry if you do. Service was first rate with the most helpful and informative staff.

  A warm welcome and truly outstanding food

  A nice privately run french hotel. Very friendly family who do their utmost to make you feel welcome and comfortable. The family members are also the Escoffier trained Chefs so be prepared for an outstanding meal, ours certainly was. The Spa facility for which there is a small extra charge was clean and very welcome after a long day in the car.

  Brilliant hotel (slightly late review)

  I visited here in June 2018 for dinner with my husband (Ive only just set up a trip advisor account so the review is slightly late...). The food was absolutely fantastic, it was so delicious and made our evening really special. The quality and presentation was stunning and made us want to keep eating. If I came back to Duras this place would be first on my list.
