Quiet, goodJust one station away from the train hub of Nagoya is Hotel 123 (not more than 2 minutes walk from Marunouchi station) in an efficiently laid-back neighborhood of offices, restaurants ands convenience stores. The price is mid-level with the guests a mix of tourists and business persons. I got myself a small room which has a flat TV, ref and electric thermos plus an bath/toilet with a small tub. Breakfast is included in the hotel charge and the fare is a mix of Western and Japanese choices. The guests do self-bussing which is unforgettably distinctive . On the mezzanine is a leisure lounge to play Japanese board games or a round of table tennis or read manga comics. Do-it-yourself laundry is provided with coin-operated washing machines. There`s an English speaking personnel for queries. Luggage storage was provided after check-out for late departures. Over-all, a restful and quiet stay.

Good stay, good facilities and good location.Hotel located about 100 meters from meitetsu marunouchi station exit 2,3. Friendly staff that can speak english. I stay for 3 person and enough space for stay but not for 3 big bags. free wifi, free breakfast. pay for toiletries except toothbrush. In conclusion I have a good stay.

Visit to NagoyaReasonably priced, small rooms with large beds and smaller pillows, typical Japanese breakfast included, great location which is easily accessible to transportation and 15 minutes walking distance from the tv tower which has lots of restaurants and night life

Clean and niceWe recently stayed here on our visit to Nagoya to see the sumo. The hotel was easy to find and a short walk from the nearest train station. We had a family room which was perfect for us. It had three beds, two singles and a double and was quite big for Japan. The air conditioning worked well. Check-in was easy and we were given a map of nearby restaurants to eat at. Breakfast was buffet style with a choice of various Japanese style soups and fish etc. There was also toast and pastries available. There were also communal areas to read and play games but we did not use them. A good valued hotel which we would recommend.

Small Room That Reeks of CigarThis hotel is at the Maronouchi area in Nagoya and, I presume, was the old "Nagoya Hotel" since this sign is still visible at the facade. There is a colorful signage just before the revolving entrance door leading to the lobby that looks newly renovated. The rooms and the rest of the building look dated though. Pros: 1. The hotel is in good location. It is a few steps from the Meitetsu-Maronouchi subway station and there are two more nearby train stations which are about ten to 15 minutes walk. It is on the same block as the Family Mart and in the vicinity of some motley of small Japanese restaurants. As the weather was good during my stay (about 12 to 18 Celsius), I reached a number of nearby attractions by foot like the Nagoya TV Tower, Nagoya Science Museum, Nagoya castle, among others, as well as the shopping district of Osu where I particularly enjoyed shopping at Komehyo and Book Off thrift shops. 2. The hotel offers buffet breakfast which is adequate in content and variety. It is a mix of American (bread, fruit jams, croissant, etc.) and Japanese (miso soup, salad, rice, veggies, etc.) food. 3. There is a bottomless UCC coffee and potable water at the ground floor Cafe from 6am to 10pm. The coffee machine can give you Cappucino, Americano, Espresso, Macchiato, etc.) and the water can come with ice cubes. 4. The rooms are equipped with refrigerators and flat TV (although I did not get to use this since it has an all-Japanese channels). 5. The bathroom, though very small, comes with complete amenities like bathtub, toiletries and towels. The heater is also in good working condition. 6. The second floor is an all free library and playroom (although, again, I did not venture into the rooms there). 7. Check-in and check-out is quite a breeze and the front desk accommodates stowing of luggage in case you have to check out ahead of your departure time, 8. Some of the room amenities that are not provided inside the room can be hand picked at the lobby like comb, shaver, cotton buds, green tea sachets, etc. 9. Though the rooms are small, they surprisingly come with a clothes cabinet with hangers, shoe mittens and iron. Cons: 1. The most disgusting part of my stay in this hotel was the smell of the room which reeks of Cigar. Although I know that it was a smoking room (I requested for a non-smoking room but was informed that none is available), the smell was so strong that even after my four nights of stay and opening the window of the room, the cigar smoke is still there and seems to have penetrated my clothing. 2. The rooms are not very clean and one time when I tried to approach the end of the corridor to peep outside the window, I discovered that the flooring is covered with dust. The towels seemed to have overlived their life cycle and the shower faucet has leaks. 3. The bed is a bit hard and you can hear the toilet flushing sound right on your bed, including that of the adjacent rooms. 4. As in most Japanese hotels, the rooms are very small and there is hardly any space where you can stand up. TIP: For tourists with heavy luggage who do not want to use the subway since it will be very inconvenient, they can ride a limo bus from the airport direct to a drop off point in Nishiki Dori stop. Hotel 123 is just about 15-20 minutes walk. Conversely, from the hotel, tourists can walk to the bus stop across Hotel Silk Tree in Nishika Naka Ward Nagoya (also about 15 to 20 mins walk). You can buy bus tickets at Hotel Silk Tree Front Desk with the same price (Y 1,200) and wait for the bus that picks up passenger for Chubu Centrair International Airport every hour (like hours 10:40, 11:40, 12:40, 1:40, and so on).
